Hello All,
Does anyone know if the W. Hostetler Lancair ES is a one piece wing? It is 118" so I hope the answer is no. Is there option to build it as 2 piece or even better, center section and 2 tips? Any comments in general about Hostetler designs or the Lancair specific would be appreciated. Thank you.

I would email him about this building. I believe most of the lancairs are one piece wings.

The W.H. Lancair plans are for a built up fuselage and wings. The wings use twin basswood spars that plug into a center section that bolts to the bottom of the fuselage. The ES and IV are on the same plans. The wings and stabs are longer for the ES.

There are some people that have made Lancair IV's based on WH plans and have developed glass fuselages and single composite wings for giant scale racing.

Strega

PS The little electric Lancair plans W.H. offers are the GS plans shrunk down, so they require "a lot" of engineering and converting sizes to build.
