xtreme boom & skids with thier canopy
and xtreme motors seems to equal too much weight
takes more throttle to lift off and short flight time

any responces to this would be great
any cure to this would be better
thanx

might have to go back to the stock body
or a different boom and regular skids

Hi Nuts...what battery are you using??...if stock, try
a DN Power 900...as sold on eBay..more than enough
power for the AL parts...cheers, John H.

I think your upgrades have decreased weight!
So as John said, it's probably your battery!
LiPo's can get 'puffy' (also plenty of info on that here) if not taken care of properly.

and more importantly; proper break in of the LIPO will greatly increase flight times. Start with 30 sec on first flight; a minute on the second, cool, charge, 2 minutes on third, so on and so on; something about electrolytic burn in or something. I'll have to review that thread when mine comes.

I stopped buying the expensive underpowered stock batteries, altogether (however, I've never had one go bad; they are good quality; I just need more juice).

Goldslinger, Hey...If you happen to find that thread whenever, can you link it ? That's one I haven't came across yet, and I have never broken in my batteries !!!!! But duh, makes complete sense with anything though...The first few flights with them I do take it easy though, but I would like to know more....Thanks bud, Jeff

The Extreme upgrades and the E-Flite aluminum upgrades do add weight to the CX2 but when fliying outside the extra weight is nice to have.

I agree with T9Dragon, there is times that I actually add a little weight just to fly in some of the smaller breezes that challenges this little heli !

I haven't yet received my motors however, I have all cnc components, cf tailboom, have vented front canopy and have cut the tail off the rear canopy and trimmed it to work with the cf tailboom and last but not least extreme skids. As she currently sits she is lighter than a bone stock CX2 with the stock lipo. Sorry don't have the exact numbers.

With the xtreme motors I would recommend that you move a different battery. The stock lipo's aren't the best. I have 2 of the DN's and love them. I'm going to follow this break in guide http://www.rchover.com/rch_team_tips and see if I get better life out of them vs. the stock lipos. But that's another story. With the xtreme motors and higher output lipo's you should have no problems with weight. If anything you should be able to ad weight vs. have to trim.
For a good weight reference have a look at this thread http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6414692/tm.htm it shows the weights for all cnc parts and stock parts. I pretty much sums up the entire cnc vs. stock debate nicely. As well covers the xtreme motor plus debate.

Without a doubt your lipo's are pooched! Had a similar problem with my stock ones.
Move to the DN's you won't be disappointed!

Interesting! So you have the full xtreme package? I don't know if anyone has weighed one out to see how heavy vs. stock. That would be interesting to know.
