You do know that if you get an e-savage that you can upgrade to S-600 motors for dirt cheap. Two for $30 on tower.

DANG, what is the "max size" the ESC can take??? (on the savage)

Yeah those motors work pretty well, Lunchboxer uses them on his TXT and they can handle some pretty high voltage. And Takedown, didn't mean to jump down your throat before I got the wrong impression, I thought you were just coming here to bash savages, but rereading it I was wrong, my bad!

still faster than the maxx,, im sorry

Hey I thought we agree'd no more of that? "Cough Cough E-maxx Rules Cough". Looks like I got a cold coming on.

lol, what is ya guys opinion, get the new VXL rustler (only a few people have driven it it seems) or get the E-Savage (which people have seen...), hard decision, they cost about the same , to get an idea (kindof) of what it has to go over, click here. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5935986/mpage_336/key_/tm.htm
thanks, one "interesting" thread

If you have any 3s lipos handy the vxl rustler would be fun as hell going 70mph!

yeah, me got no lipos , I can't imagine a 5,000+ mah lipo, wow, zippy, def not want to put one in me little MT, prob to hard to drive , anyone slapped a VXL into a E-Savage???, note, reason why I asked is I like to be fast

Ya if you dont got any 3s lipos and dont plan to get any then the e-savage is the way to go.

I dunno, just the fact that the e-savage weighs 9LB (eek), I don't think I would ever hear the end of it if I was racing my sister with that on my little track, and came crashing down on her little car, pulled out me big clunky radioshack truck and ran into her like 4 times, boy was she happy , yeah, what about the pede or the bandit, any better with steering, the way to make it turn better is to prob file down some stupid little piece of plastic/get a better servo , tough call , like I said, got mula for both

Ive heard that the e-savage is exceptionally good at handling and doesnt roll very often. The pede is also a very fun truck! If I were to choose between a VXL pede and a stock e-savage I would probably get the vxl pede because of how fun it is to drive.

yeah, the only other downside to my little MT is it is kindof prone to rolling (if you hit a rock... in a tight turn), yeah, the pede is neat, the only downside is it is QUITE HIGH up, which would prob make it prety unstable at high speeds , will see, watch, I will get both the E-Savage and the VXL rusty... I can see why the savage is prety stable due to the HIGH WEIGHT, only other downside to savage is 14.4 V, motors are prob not cheap... will see, will see

well, I guess they aint so expensive, link anyone

Ya the S-600's are suppose to be pretty potent in an e-maxx and an e-savage. Here they are- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJ766&P=ML

BTW JCD VPR has an e-savage vid with the S-600's in it and yes the ESC will be able to handle them- http://youtube.com/watch?v=88Q0_YMMLbc

Does anybody know if you would be able to run the s-600's in reverse? Seeing how they are plane motors.

Plane motors are no different than car motors. With that being said, these motors have advanced timing, so they canNOT be run in reverse.

So what you are saying is that they will be damadged by being ran in reverse? Or are they unable to run in reverse? Is there a way to lock out reverse on the stock e-savage esc?

You can run in reverse just not for to long. Just enough to get out of that tough spot or whatever.

Hey I was wondering if anyone has ever ran two of these motor's in there e-maxx/e-savage? It looks to be a little thinner than a normal 550 motor but is 2 inches longer.

I dunno, you could try. However it looks as though running them at 14.4 volts may be way over what they are designed for.

The S-600's are not meant to be run with 14.4v volts but it works good anyway.

Yup people have been using 14.4 volts with no apparent problems.

I say when one of you guys get the chance buy them multiplex motors. Give them a try on 14.4v and let us know how it all works out performance wise.
