I guess, or they didn't bother to change the power system .

The savvy can handle 16 cells also. They both look like they handle brushless fine, but I was just sayin right out of the box. No worries.

The GT ESC cant handle 16cells! Ive heard it overheats like crazy on 14cells.

ok, thanks for the great news that the GT overheats like crazy on 14 cells, i guess that is the max, i know that it runs on 12 cells, I wonder what would happen if you slaped a cooling fan on it, if that would help at all????????

Um, where is this information that the stock ESC overheats "like crazy" on 14 cells coming from? I've been running my on 14 for quite a while now with no issues. I do have a fan on it, but with the fan it barely warms up...even with S600 motors... I've got no comment on 16 cells, but there are tons of folks running 14 cells, and I can personally attest to it. With a small cooling fan, you're golden...

It shouldn't heat up like crazy on 14 cells; I run my TXT w/ S600s and 14 cells constantly, it'll get somewhat warm but I'm not running a fan on it.

I don't really have an accurate way to measure speed... I did the "time over a measured distance" by making a video running down the road and came up with ~36mph on 14 cells...around 32mph on 6 cells. That was with the S600 motors, never tried it stock...probably a few mph slower with stock motors...

The 7 cells are IB4200's. I picked them up used off of ebay, but they seem pretty strong still... The 6 cells are the red cheap ones off of ebay...nothing special, but pretty decent for the price...

thanks, speed probabaly depends on surface, batteries and how much the motors are used , can't decide wether to get nitro or electric (no, not the savage)

How did you use 7 cell packs in an e-savage? How much cutting did you do? Got any pics? I would love to use 14 cells on my upcoming e-savage. Does anybody know a fan that is the right size for the e-savage esc?

It'd have to be a big one.

Yeah! But I think I would be able to find one. What do you think of the idea?

If you could somehow get the fan connected to the Battery voltage input you could use the radioshack 12v. It looks like it would fit perfectly right over the heatsink- http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102824&cp=&parentPage=search

Thats the one I use for my SB 959 charger to keep it cool. It works great!

Why wouldn't I just be able to solder on a J connector to it and use it with the port on the esc?
