It would be interesting to see if these are the same as A123. I note the literature has "AKA A123".

I hope this is for real.

But I notice no solder tabs. Unless one uses a power tube, how can they be soldered into a pack. The A123 cans are aluminum and resist regular solder.

Hey Guys,

This is a different battery manufacturer. This particular cell is similar in physical appearance, and it is Phosphate based, however it is our patented Nanophosphate chemistry that really creates the differences. I have attached a spec sheet of this Yuntong cell.

What about these: Are they the real A123?

Also is it easy to make your own from a Dewalt tool battery?

Red, Any thoughts?

Who knows? The prices are UNREAL. Yes, making from DeWalt 36 volt pack is easy.

4600 mAh is pretty good eh?

So from what I understand these batteries do not require regulators. Is this true?

Big toys for big boys, gas and glow often use 2S A123 packs for their receiver / servos and ignition, smoke pump etc.

No regulator required as a 2s A123 is much the same voltage as a 5 cell Ni. Major difference is that voltage curve is just about flat and they can supply more than enough amps. without breaking a sweat. Fast charging at 10A means no waiting either.

It will be nice when these are available off-the-shelf...by-and-fly...plug-and-play as it were. Still too experimental for me.
