Default USS Missouri Build

I started this about a year ago. I recieved it from a gentleman that was selling kit's on ebay. He said he had a hull that he bought and was cracked when he recieved it. We made a deal to buy it the hull from him at a reasonable price 7.00 buck for the hull and 7.00 bucks to ship it. So i couldn't pass it up. So as the picture's that follow. You can see what i recieved and how it was repaired. Oh By The way to put the hull back in one piece took me only a week. Since i did have the plans arleady. Picutre's Following.

Looks like a Sterling Missouri... and sort of looks like he broke it over his knee in frustration!

Have you checked out your local scale modelers?

Your right It is a Sterling USS Missouri. He bought it off some guy and when he recieved it it was the way i got it. Only took me a week to put together since i did have the plans and yall already. hehe I already know about the St. Lous Admiral's Club here in St. Louis. Am not a member but i do try to attend the boat shows they have at Union Station every Sept. Thus is why am trying to get it done either this year or the middle of the next. They have a 20th regotta next year. So i will be there hopefully.

I too am restoring the USS Missouri. I do not have the plans--is there any chance of buying a copy of your plans. This would help me make the missing parts.
Thanks
Jim

To jgould and patmat......I'm the one who sold that broken Misssouri hull to deathwish. I had bought it off ebay and can you believe it, it was the post office that bent the 60" long box in half and broke it! No insurance on the package so I lost badly. Was glad to see deathwish bring it back to life! I have plans and several other hulls with the rest of the parts and lead fittings if anyone is interested. I have one on ebay this very moment. You can email me at: [email protected]

This Post is for the USS New Jersey which is a sister ship to the USS Missouri. I got the hull from dheinmuller for 51.00 including the fitting's which was a great deal (usally about 50-60 on ebay). What a friend. I had him take out the motor and the weight's to save on the shipping. As you can see it's prepainted which will save me some time and the suprstrutre is prebuilt. Next is the gun's. Man where am i going to put these i live in a one room apt. LOL

If you build up a gear ratio, you can get the to swing a larger arc.
My combat gun swings 270 degrees.

They swing all the way around like they suppose to. It was kind of hard to move the guns on the radio and hold the digital camera at the same time. Hehe Next thing am going to get is a little tripod. makes things easier. LOL

Pat M:

No I didn't break it over my knees in frustration. I had bought the hull and pieces off of ebay years ago, and the seller didn't pack it very well and our great postal service crush the long box in the center and that's what I ended up with. Deathwish is doing a great job I think resurrecting the MO!
