Tamiya tt-01, oh yea and there was this one button labeled "search" perhaps you should put a bit of thought into this and do something yourself instead of having others do it for you?!?! hmmmm...

wow way to be a A**. anyways, ive drifted with many cars and my fave so far is my TC4. I own a losi xxx-s, tt-01D, HPI RS4 Sport 1 with Sport 2 hopups and my TC4. I dont like tt-01's cause you cant adjust anything on the chassis at all. with my losi xxx-s you def have more adjustablility but hated the enclosed belt and my rs4 had a 2 speed on it and it kept giving me issues. My tc4 what can i say. i love this car.

i run my tc4 with a front one way, locked rear diffs, a 27turn core stock team orion motor and a duratraxx intellispeed ESC, yokomo single ring drift tires on losi xxx-s drift-R 25mm rims, blue aluminum all over the place, -3 toe in the rear. it drifts like a champ...

id have to go for the tt-01 aswell. basicaly because its cheap and nasty lol. you dont need to spend hundreds on a drift car, just lock the rear dif and put some tape over the rear tyres. some people say to put tape over all the tyres but i find you keep more controll id only the rear tryes slide

i also have a team losi street weapon (reeeeaaaalllly old now) it drifts like a champ aswell!!!! because its old, they normaly sell on ebay for about £20 lol so its a nice cheap way of getting in!

I'm slightly confused how the title is BETTER CAR and given that you're looking into the Sprint 2, people had the AUDACITY to suggest a TT01. HA!!! That's hilarious. I mean, sure the first guy was an A-HOLE, but he had the most honest response thus far. TT01. Better than a Sprint 2. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Whew. Okay. The TT01 is CHEAPER than the Sprint 2, but not better. You gotta hop-up the whole d@mn car. I mean, the Sprint2 is no gem outta the box either, but it at least comes "drift tires" and may even have oil filled shocks. If you want better, you're going to have to pay more. The 2 best are the MR4TC and the TA03F. However, one of those has been discontinued (I'll let you figure that one out) and the other has just had the basic package upgraded. They both drift out the box with no hop-ups needed. However, they're both pricey. One is hard to get (cuz it's pricey), the other is HARDER (cuz it's pricey and since they don't make'em anymore, you gotta find a good pre-owned one)to get. I'll let you figure out which is which. I'll even give you a clue. The maker of the recently upgraded one starts with a Y.

Now, Team Losi also has a new "drift kit" on the market. Haven't driven it yet, but I've heard good things about it. Comes RTR. It's also rather pricey. Look into that.

Another alternative is using the TC3/TC4 set-up. I've done that and I know a few (good) drivers still using that. Tires are all you need to get going with that. And, most of the parts between the TC3 and TC4 are interchangeable. Also, both popular chassis in the racing world so they're easy to get and easy to get parts for.

The Sprint 2 D from HPI and Tamiya's old battle horse, the TT01 are about neck and neck. It really just depends on who you ask on that one. If you do go with the TT01, get the one with the D and the end of it (TT01-D). I'm sure you can figure out what the "D" stands for. The advantage to the TT01 is that it cost more to feed a hungry kid in Somalia than it does to own one of these cars. Matter of fact, you should just buy two just for the h3ll of it. And, they perform pretty well. The quality is ok and the room for improvement is vast, but at their going price, you can LITERALLY buy one on a McDonald's dollar menu budget. The Sprint 2 isn't much of stretch of the wallet either. It's like the difference between buying 15inch rim from Walmart and a 16inch rim from Walmart. Niether are expensive, and they both will work for what you need them for...and, and a fraction of the cost.

Since everyone is recommending the TT01 as a "better car", might I suggest Tyco's RC DRIFT KINGS.

naw, I'm kidding. Don't buy those. If you're on a budget, TT01 or Sprint2 is what you should look into. If you got some money to spend and want a better car, step up to the MR4TC or TAO3F. If you wanna buy American and support the global war on terror, buy the Team Losi.

I found the Sprint 2 to be a Superior handling car due to being a well balanced belt drive.. I would go it over the TT-01 if you have a suitable drift area and access to Sprint 2 belts....

everyone drifts with what suits them i suppose yeh the tt-01 is the most popular not just cos of the cheap price but the durability of the kit and plenty of upgrades and also shaft instead of belt ive tried both and personaly wouldnt touch another belt drive no matter how much it was worth.
but each to there own.

LOL as for the Tyco's RC DRIFT KINGS commment,be it on you head if he comes back with one

lol. yEAH. I'll take FULL responsibility for that one. And I don't really think TT01 is so popular for any other reason other than price. Sure, it doesn't totally suck once you actually get it, but if it were 200+bux, it wouldn't be 1/3 as popular. It doesn't have ANYTHING that other cars don't have. It just cost less. That's it. Not to bag it or anything. But, I just feel the price is its only real draw.

i own a sprint2 and i have no problems with rocks in my belts...if you mod the diff case you dont have to worry about rocks getting stuck in your belts. another option to the tt01 is the hpi e10 i have one on order and it should be here today or tomorrow so if you want to wait ill let you know how that one is. im rather hard on my cars( gone rallying with my sprint2). i have only chewed up one belt in sprint2.

How are those the 2 best cars? I happen to think that those aren't the two best.

I think since the thread starter was looking at the sprint 2 then he must be asking what the best "starter" car is.

Actually, he was asking if there was something better for that amount of money. Hence, the irony in people suggesting a TT01. Cuz that's not better.
