Dom,

That's awesome! Incidentally, my friend Bob said he got to see your Panther fly this weekend and reports how impressive it is. Bob and I are headed up to Winamac, IN next weekend to maiden my Panther - I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Dom,

I was unable to maiden the Panther @ Winamac due to not having the correct trainer cord, but I still had a blast as expected! Lots of great people to chat with and a great air show to watch as well.

The Futaba 12FG 2.4g operates on 7.2 volts (as you know) and requires a 'special' trainer cord in order to make it compatible with 'most' Futaba transmitters, which operate on 9.6 volts - I did not know this!

I did have an opportunity to run the Titan and check out all of the systems. Incidentally, the main gear issue that I related to you earlier seems to be fine as long as I operate with 110 psi pressure - I get three good full cycles of the gear with this pressure. Incidentally, I'm using three 'small' Robart air tanks for the landing gear, so I probably have a little less volume than yours.

Anyway, I'm off to 'Jets Over Kentucky' for the 4th of July weekend for a second attempt - with 'special' trainer cord in hand of course!

I'll keep you posted from here.

Thanks,
Joe

I found a web site with the Federal Std Colors

http://www.chassis-plans.com/paint_fed-std-595.html

I am trying to match the yellow and blue from the photos that I took of Dom's panther
It looks lie the Yellow could be FS 13655 and the Blue maybe FS 35250, can anyone conform this?

Good luck Joe.
Glad to hear you worked out the gear issue. Funny thing is that mine seems to work better below 100 psi!! I still pump to 100 however. I have been meaning to try higher pressure since I have one inner gear door that pops open in flight. The pressure in the fuse is too great for the air cylinder.
I am going back to Titusville this weekend to fly my F-18 and Panther. Keep me posted on your maiden.

best thing to do for color matching is to take one of the wings to a paint store and have them hit is with the sun gun they can match it right there on the spot

I don't have access to the wing panel, Maj. Woody lives a couple of hours from me, I'm just trying to get the same paint to do another model.

Hi Guys.
I logged my 35th flight over the weekend and the Panther is performing flawless. Everything about the jet is rock solid. I perform a thorough inspection of the jet before each flight as I do all my planes and there are no cracks, stress marks or loose formers anywhere. This is a very well constructed bird. Next stop is the Liberty Bell Jet Rally.
See you there!!!!!!!

Wagner,

I've returned my Titan to Bob Wilcox @ JetCat for inspection to see if they can determine 'why' it flamed-out.

Thanks for ordering the replacement gear doors - If getting them 'unpainted' will speed up the process that will be just fine as I have a nice epoxy paint system and can match the color etc.

I'll let you know the results of the turbine inspection.

Thanks a bunch!
Joe
