Hi.
I am looking for another winter project and am considering this jet.
I saw this kit at Heart of Ohio. It looked pretty good. The intakes make an almost 90 degree bend in order to get to the Turbine which looks like it needs to be mounted very far forward (for C.G. reasons?). The rest of the jet looked nice. I did not get a look at the gear since it was retracted. My only other concern would be the small fuel tank and no other space to put an additional tank. It looks like you need at least a 120 in this bird. I would put a Titan in it (too much power yes but only a few dollars more than the 120 when buying a new engine). Has anyone flown one? I would like to hear some feedback before taking the plunge.
Dom

Woody, I don't know about the FB one. I own a PST wich is 73"L x 73"S. Only 3,3/4" shorter and 1/4" less in span than the FB. The proyected weigth is 22pounds dry and it should fly very good with a 14 thrust pound engine. I'm also concern about power to weigth ratio but everybody who flew one told me I should be OK with my pst 600r.. Terry is flying one with an wren SS and flys aweson. For me the FB is too heavy for the size. I'm very happy with mine and haven't test fly her yet. Just my opinion.

Dom, I have flown my PST at 24lbs dry with Wren SS, very nice flyer. Power is good and adequate for scale flying plus some. The panthers flaps are VERY effective, the larger motors might be better when really dirty than the small. That FB panther looks like a great jet for the money. Good luck and happy flying.

The yellow you see in the second picture above is Kevlar reinforcement.

The one I saw at Heart of Ohio was quite a bit larger than My PST Panther. I don't think a MW54 SS would be enough power. It would need the Wren XL200.............

How about a custom kit? I don't want the speed brakes and inner flaps. I also prefer to install the gear doors / hinges myself as I don’t like to screw the hinges on like the factory does. My idea of a custom kit would be this:

Inner flaps and speed brakes not cut free of the fuse

Blue and Yellow paint job

Landing gear doors and cylinders provided but not installed

Can you produce a kit like this?

Thanks!!
Dom
