Our new engines should be here in a few days. In the meantime, I have very little left to do on it's new home. Im getting a little anxious now...

I am doing a Super Stearman also.
I'm just using a Fuji BT43EI in mine

Hi Jonney
Its been a month since your last post, are you still happy with the motor. I am planning on putting a pair of them in an ESM F7 Tigercat! what's the vibration like??

I stated this earlier, but the black hose is crankcase pressure, and it goes to the carb. It drives the fuel pump with the pulsing pressure.

The WT-644 does not come with the pulse nipple on the carb. I will take the cover on the WT-731 carb that has the pule nipple and install it on the WT-644. You do not need to do anything with the prime blub. Just leave it alone. The choke on the WT-644 will allow the engine to be primed very easily once it is closed. Just teun on the ignition and close the choke and spin the engine over until it pops. Than open the choke and the engine will fire right up. I need the choke because my SV-26 is going into a Goldberg Stinson that has a cowl and I would have no way to prim a cold engine.

I have tested the SV-26 and ran it for 1 1/2 hours using penzoil for air cooled engines at a 40 to 1 ratio. With a APC 16x8 prop I am getting 8200 RPM. I will change out the carb this week and test it with the WT-644. I believe it will turn the same prop at least 500 RPM higher.

when i took the plate off with the pressure nipple on it, i noticed the two carbs had a different gasket. the 644 allows more than the 731. also since the 644 didn't come with a pressure nipple are you sure it needs one. seems like it would have come with one.

Leave the primer bulb on the WT-644 and just plug the fuel intake that is with the bulb with some thing. The WT-644 do have a pulse hole in it but it is in the bottom of the case of the carb. That is what to 2 holes on the bottom of the carb are for. They provide a pulse from the engine to the carb thru the manifold. The manifold on the SV-26 does not have a pulse hole so you will have to use the plate on the WT-731 that has the pulse nipple on it with the WT-644. Just swap the two plates of the carbs.

Here are some pic's of the Walbro WT-644 mounted to my SV-26. You must level the primer buld on the carb according to the dealer I bought it from. He said it would never run right if you remove it. He told me to just put a plug in the fuel intake for the primer buld and it would work OK. The WT-644 is the standard carb used on the Zenoah G-26 for Heli's and boats. The Zenoah G-26 with this carb spins a APC 16x8 prop at 9000 RPM. I hope to get very close to that. I'll post my results after I test run it this weekend.
