Wow those prices are crazy-low. You can't even convert a weedie to electronic ignition for that kind of money and you still just have a weedie, not a machined crankcase with nice muffler and large bore carb. I have seen engine prices for scooters dirt cheap, it was only a matter of time I guess before the invasion of the import gassers. -Tom

But have you seen the shipping prices???

Maybe it's just to NZ but they seem to want US$200 to ship the 100cc twin by EMS. Hell, I can get a whole DL50 from Peak (also in China) for $370 *including* the EMS shipping.

I wonder if they're pricing them ultra-low to get buyers then building the rest of their margin into the shipping?

It's not actually *that* expensive to ship out of China -- just look at how DealExtreme manages to ship everthing for *free* to all parts of the world and you'll see what I mean.

Yes, I agree that you get a very nice machined and anodized engine case etc, but do you get any real quality.

Several years ago I bought a sweet looking made in Taiwan purple coloured head glow engine that after the first few engine runs the colour disapeared, followed by it's ability to run consistently. Turned out to be a piece of crap that was just nicely packaged.

These engines aren't new.. just another name. Compare the picture to the LS Pro and HHT engines

Will let you do your own research on how powerful the engines are....

I am considering the purchase of SV 26cc Gas Engine (maybe two, given shipping is $50?) for my Skyshark FW-190. After I am notified that they are in stock at UH/HC, I will update you with a posting at this forum topic.

Can anyone give the me web sites for LS Pro and HHT engines, which I could not easily find using Google?

I think this is what you are looking for: http://www.lsproengines.com/lspro_004.htm
Prices are much higher but I have really been burned by the likes of Peak Hobbies that I am VERY reluctant to do business with overseas suppliers again (didn't say never...).

Yeah Rich;
you hit the nail on the head, that is the manufacturer, and if you notice that is a aluminum reedbox, they have a tendency to transfer a lot of heat to the carbs. That is the reason Fox,DA,&3W and most others use nylon.

I took a look at the LS Pro 26 engine, which appears identical to the 26 being sold at United Hobbies/Hobby City.

Does anyone have a web link to HHT engines?
