Default i figured out how to attach mattracks tracks! cheaply and easily!

i figured out how to attach those radioshack mattracks to a Tmaxx! i found out that the flywheel nut that holds on the flywheel for the nitro evader ST fits into the hex slot in the tracks, AND it's screw pattern is a perfect match to the stock tmaxx tire mounting stud thingie. but anyway im gonna run by homedepot and find a nut thats about 5/16 in size with the right thread and is about 1inch long, and a bolt for the other side =3 i'll have pics up hopefully within the next week or two!

sorry for the craptastic vid but my cam sucks, hopefully this weekend i'll borrow my friend with his camcorder and record it in action.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=-Y-U3ckHZMg

List of parts needed.

1 Radioshack Hummer H2 Mattracks edition (80$)
4 10-32-3/4" coupling nuts (ace hardware 2.65 for a 6pack i do belive unless i priced it wrong at the cashier XD oops)
4 10-32-1" machine screws
some epoxy to make the tread stops.
and a dremel as always =3

First if you have a drill bit just a bit larger then the screw it'll save you lots of time, first bore out the mount holes in the tracks so the screw will fit through on all four tracks.

Then take yerself some epoxy (use the two part steel epoxy for best results) and push a good bit into the holes above n below the axel on the hub carrier and let it set up n dry and drill/tap for a 8-32 or 6-32 or just stuff them inside while it's still maluable to make the track stops so they don't flip on theselves.

While the epoxy drys you can put on the coupling nuts on to the stock tmaxx axels (they might be a lil tight but the threads stay true so don't be shy about a lil wrench force) it'll be a 5/16" nut so you can use your glowplug wrench if you don't have a socket handy =)

then install your tracks and use the 10-32 screws to hold the tracks on. (don't do like me and get self countersinks get flat head's so they don't spread the plastic n bind up)

if all went well you'll now have mattracks tracks on your Tmaxx!

as you saw there firmly attached =3 tomarrow im gonna make the tread stops though i may do it tonight, dunno yet o.o; and they survived a 3foot drop test onto the floor, and best yet it raised the whole truck up about a inch or two and widened it almost a full inch on both sides!

LOOKS AWSOME

only problem I think your going to find is the hex nuts on the pasenger side,
are going to thread them selves off the first time you punch it.

I'll be interested to see how those hold up to the power and weight of the maxx. Very cool idea and nice job.
