That's the newest version. Beefed up mounting ears, new standoffs, and the newest version of the ignition.

You are all set. Enjoy... I'm the proud owner of 4 DL50's. Sold my DA50's.

Lots of photos in this thread. I'm getting ready to mount DL #4 on a RC Dawghouse Yak. I'll post some pics.

The mounting dimensions are the same as a DA 50... So, if you can get your hands on a DA 50 template... mounting will be easy..

The dimensions are not the same they are different. All you have to do is mount the standoff and draw around the outside edges and you will see the difference. Some one posted a template a while back and you can download it and print it out with no scaling. I think that Bob P. has it on his website. If he can chime in and let us know.

Nelvick,
Keep us posted. I am very interested on how your install goes and how it performs in your PW. I also have a extra pw 1/4 scale 300 that I will be installing a DL50 also.

Just go to my website.... there is a lot of info on the DL 50, also the template from DL Australia.... I just used it a couple weeks ago to install in my new Sukhoi.... the DL Australia template is PERFECT.
You will love the engine....

I have been flying the GP Patty wagstafff with a DL-50 for a while now. It is a perfect combination. It will fly around all day on 1/2 to 3/4 throttle - anything more will rip the wings off. Mounting the DL onto the Patty is very straigh forward with no modifications needed. I moved the rudder servo from the back to the centre for Pull - Pull. With the DL up front with the CDI and ignition batteries no additional weight was needed to balance out over the wing tube.

Engine mounts (and all other bolts on the DL50) use 5mm Metric (0.8 pitch)

6-32 will fit, but will be a little loose in the thread, so the correct metric 5mm bolt should be used.

From memory I just used a 5955 Hitec servo and placed it in the centre of the supplied servo tray. I did have to dremmal out a hole for the servo to fit in the the centre of the try. I just used the standard Hitec servo arms and a some wire and fittings I purchase from my LHS - nothing exciting or special. I think the bolts came with my DL 50 - but if not, just go to your local hardware store and buy some -

Sorry to correct you, but it is a 10-32 thread that will fit, but as you said, a little loose. I just bought a couple yesterday for mounting the spinner to my DL50. Couldn't find a metric long enough.

Dont be sorry, I was wrong. Im not so familiar with imperial #'s Ive spent my life with mostly metric measurements here in Aust (used to imperial, but before my time)

youre right 10-32 is the closest to 5mm Think I still had 8-32 on my brain from some HD Dubro Horns I was fitting the other night....
