Here's a question for the folks who fly Futaba. It's too windy to fly this weekend but I went to the field anyways. Was getting the "learn" part setup on my P-80 but not sure how to setup the failsafe. I have a 9C with a FASST module...anyone with the same setup?

Craig, I would post this in the JetCat support forum and/or the Futaba support forum. For those that don't know, this is Craig's first turbine powered aircraft. He has the sport scheme Elan.

I can say that on my super 8 with module, I used the throttle cut and put it on a mix switch, so with the cut on, that was trim low, stick low. and with it off, that was ready.
The only trick is binding for engine kill on the spektrum. when you turn the TX on for bind, very quickly cycle the trim switch before it begins to transmit or it will always set it to idle for failsafe
Understand that was spektrum, so I dont know how much applicability that has other than the throttle cut.

Hey you guys with alot of sorties, whats the censensus on Crow settings and flap settings and elevator settings?
Right now Im only running about 15 degrees of flap for takeoff, with no elevator mix, and 80 degrees with 3% down mix for landing, but only have 7 flights so far. No crow at present.

Hi guys, My Elan arrived 10 days ago but due to other commitments I didn't get to start the build until Monday last. The turbine, UC, extension leads, tank, servos only arrived three days ago. I maidened her today and all I can say is, 'What a feeling, what a plane, the long nights and little sleep was worth it'. I want to say a big THANK YOU to Sandor at Digitech Turbines. Fast service, excellent parts supplied and quick delivery. For those interested the build time table looked like this, Mon 9 pm - 1.30 am Tue 9 pm - 2.00 am Wed No oppertunity to work Thur 2.00 pm - 2.00 am Fri 9.00 am - 3.30 am (saturday morning) Sat 11.00 am - 6.10 am (Sunday Morning, today) Maiden flight at 3.30 pm today.

Hi guys, I was wondering if you are using the bolt to hold the top hatch on as per the kit, or has anyone opted for a quick release system. If so, what are you using? I would like to be able to get into the model fast if neccessary. I'm guessing the bolt is used instead of the normal plastic latch pin due to the heat from the turbine??
Hi yes its two Multiplex hatch latches, sliding versions with brass balls from ball centered clevis soldered onto the pin and then trimmed back with a dremel. The Multiplex units have nice long slide pin and large catch pin and easy to slide. I prefer these to some others which have very short pins that do not stick through fus skins very far. Still some work to do in tidying up. Dont take any notice of the angle of the tailplane as its just resting there !
Hi Goose i run similar flap settings to yours for take off and run crow on landings full flaps ,whatever you can get and 15mm of up aileron both sides . you will be amazed at how much you can slow her down and maintain controlability. i was flying mine today on a grass field a lil bit of head wind and on landing it rolled out abt 20ft to a stop without brakes... i amazed other jet pilots at how slow i could get it and still not worry abt dropping a wing etc.. try it an see what you think... set it up and fly a few circuits wtih the gear down and full crow just be prepare to add abt 30% more throttle to go the same speed. Helijet and i run identical setups and they rock...
