well im a biologist and they fascinate me. without them insects would rule the Earth and we would waddle in a carpet 1 foot thick of insects i wouldnt want to tangle with the sydney funnel web they are deadly to humans but not to dogs or cats!

Actually, I live in a big city (Rio de Janeiro) and there are no spiders here, but I've heard that in Amazon forest we have those big hairy scary ones... I did some research and found a good google link for you with tons of brazilian spiders! Check them out!

Well, a Grand for the whole setup plus $400 for the sound system, not to mention my import taxes... It's not cheap stuff, so it's better be good! :) Thanks a lot for the great explanation above.

Talking sound systems, I was told Benedini Sound System is great. I did some research on the website http://www.aerosoundrc.com/ and found the sound simply AWESOME!!!

Do you have any experience with those?

wow a whip scorpion cool. the motor and esc are top of the line you may need more batts i will do another sim on my ecalc program .

greg hahn used 4 batts total two for each motor. Im attempting using only two it may not be enough power i can always order two more batts. The nice thing is you will never have to worry about engine out problems again. the cowls do not have holes in them and the plane looks better.

the one thing you never want to do is over power a esc they will fry so you look for the total voltage. each S is 3.6v so a 3s pack is 11.1v. my axi setup is ok up to 8s so i may need more packs but the wing loading is low enough to handle the weight.

those spiders are awesome i would love to have them here but the wife says i have enough. i have a black widow and a brown recluse. They eat crickets. i never handle them. I also have tarantulas so tame one is sitting on my shoulder right now.

i love that link i cant read it but they are cool. i like snakes too dont have one as i cant feed live prey im a softie and even save flys in the house

yes that is the type of system I want. see mine will be heavy as usual. my tf corsair is 35 pounds due to all scale stuff. flys fine at that weight

Everybody,

there has been considerable talk about electric power for this model. Hopefully we'll get Greg Hahn's notes with a few photos posted on the Top Flite web site today--within the next couple of days for sure. Check in with the Top Flite web site (I believe it's www.top-flite.com). That's where it will be posted.

I don't know of anybody adding sound systems to this model.

I'll see if I can get a brief writeup and/or a few photos of either Greg's or our other R&D engineer's B-25 with their bomb bays and drop mechanisms.

Gee, I thought I had a lot to do with getting those gear door hinges to work properly.

My engines are mounted, throttle servos in place and nacelles will go on tonight.

Don't forget to bolt the naceles to the wing before you permanently install the tanks.

Don't ask.

I think the screw threads for the engines will be worn out soon because you have to take the engines off, put them back on, etc.

It's fun work though and I have all weekend to work on it.

Sunday I will be test flying "the other guys" B-25 too.

Hello Tim (Krypton), I am racing with Dick here to finish assembling my B-25, unfortunately I'm slowed down by my glassing and glueing an reinforcing. We should be airborne at the same time even though you guys are one hour behind...

BTW why are you not revealing the meaning of TOPA0950? In my case it is already ordered an will be added to my squadron of the same model.

Hi normandouellette. Don't you guys race too fast. I know this is an ARF and there is less work to do than a kit, but there still IS a lot of work and if you go too fast you'll screw something up or forget something. [sm=wink_smile.gif]

I don't know what you mean by "not revealing the meaning" of TOPA0950. I guess it's the new Mustang ARF and it's shown on the Tower Hobbies site. But thanks for ordering one already![sm=thumbup.gif]

im going to outline the area of the bombay with blue masking tape and use a ruler and new no 11 for the horizontal cuts the verticals are what im looking at because i only have one chance at this. i could use a dremel cutting wheel. The scale bay is square inside and i should have no trouble using robart hinges to get the doors set.i will use evergreen styrene for scale details, i will be applying panel lines and rivits. yes im crazy

Greg won't be doing the uploading. He just wrote his notes and took a few pics, then our desktopper team (Technical Publications) turns all that into something "publishable" (something finished, professional looking). Then they forward the finished document to another guy who does the downloading to the site.

Anyway, today at work I saw a proof of the final, desktopped piece, so by now it has probably been forwarded to the guy who does the downloading (or uploading or whatever![sm=spinnyeyes.gif].) Sorry to keep you waiting, but I guess it'll be another work day or two before it appears.

When uploaded, I would imagine it would appear under the "Tech Notice" box on the B-25 page on the Top Flite site.

Sorry to keep you waiting, but it should be available really soon. If you must know the motors used, you might be able to do a search for "Greg Hahn" or something like that and see if he ever posted any info about the gear he used.

Thanks for the info. I'll stop hitting the Site too hard and get some life... :)

Today I called a guy in a LHS and he said they have all the line of Hyperion engines (are they good?) and he was very excited about my project. He even offered to help me mounting the whole thing.

BTW, when I sent him the link for the plane, he really went nuts and wanted to be part of it! It's not much common here in Brazil people go electric on Giant, specially twin powered scale birds. Besides, it's a very fine bird and you should be proud of it.

I have a Top Flite's Staggerwing waiting for assembling and for the quality of its parts I know what to expect from a Top Flite's B25.

As you say, carry on!!!!

"Dog" is a term of endearment. It's also a method for people who are "squares," or "not cool" (like me!) [sm=49_49.gif] to make fun of themselves by using a term that is slang whose origins are from rap music. [sm=drowning.gif]

By the way, have you seen the B-25 video on the Top Flite web site? That's me near the end of the video. I'm the one kneeling at the front of the airplane. I appear for just one second![:D]

Timothy- you may want to consider using a very sharp razor saw (very fine blade) for making the vertical cuts on the fuselage. The dremel tool can be very coarse and also inflict great damage if it starts to get out of line at all. I have been making hand cuts for precise situations for years now (I am a woodworker, building hand-made furniture for the past 18 or so years) and I find this to be the most precise method, especially when you only want to make one cut and make it count right !

Just a few thoughts to share with you, but please, it is only some ideas and suggestions. Good luck with the next steps.
