HBKII back in the air. Had just purchased a bare bones kit a month ago and moved my CP Pro stuff over including the E-Flite brushless. Had a bit of a loss of tail authprity and smacked a tree. Got it back together and the motor mount became slightly loose and stripped the main gear. Replaced that and replaced a severely bent feathering shaft (man those things are soft). I had also purchased the freestyle hobby belt drive system for my CP Pro and took the opportunity while the HBKII was being repaired to move the tail system from the CP Pro to the HBKII (it is a t-rex tail system which offers the standard T-REX tail rotors and a smoother pitch system).

Man it flies great now. Just finished two flights (TP 1320 batteries) and boy it is a much better machine now. Blade tracking is spot on. Tail authority and control is solid. Love this little thing.

I am also using T-Rex skids and an old T-Rex canopy from my 450. Now I can spend some time fine tuning this thing and learning nose in (can I just download that capability to my brain like the Matrix). Also need to mod the battery tray.

Cheers.

My small back yard works for the HBKII a little - just to get the daily "fix". On the weekends, I will sometimes go over to Providence Day School and fly at the training fields. Have only been there a couple of times when no one else is there - trying not make a nuisance of myself. Most of the parks stay too busy. I have been looking for a better place but not too far from the house and have not found it yet. Have you found any good spots? I live on the Matthews side of town.
