it has its cool features the 2 speed is optional which is good for brushless set ups I am not sure about the new way to mount the motors I think that they should have kept it the same and made the centerline motor plate optional but oh well

Looks like a typical Traxxas release. Once again, they ignore the racers and cater to the bashers. It's crap.

Why does everybody trash Traxxas for finding and catering to a market niche?
Finding a market niche and catering to it is what makes a company, any company, successful.
And Traxxas may be the most successful RC company ever.
Just because they don't cater to a niche that you like does not make them bad/wrong or crap.
Nor does it make their products crap.
It doesn't even mean that they don't "care" about racers.
It just means that they do not believe that racers are their core/target demographic.
I truly believe that if Traxxas were to turn their efforts to racing then they would dominate. IMHO, the Revo is an excelent example of that.

it's definitly stupid. They said that they lowered the motors, and infact they raised the motors and lowered the tranny. They also put the off center, so the car might pull to one side. Nothing new except the tranny gears, the steering rack, and the chassis. SUCKS!!! And i bet it's a $100 mor than it was before.

As far as catering to the bashers, you might want to get on the phone with, oh say, a company like RPM. I've spoken to them several times and they make parts mostly for bashers. Why? Because at least 90% (their words, not mine) of the rc cars out their are used as bashers, not racers. If it were my company I'd do the same thing

B'cos that's 95% of the market, the changing face of the hobby. All the growth has been bashing, not racing. Even people who want to race are turned off to it by ROAR and the elitism, uptight 'I'm the best... you might be better but you're not allowed' attitude in general. The elitist crowd dug their own hole -- with all their special rules and regulations and approvals designed to limit the playing field, to keep the pros pro and the outsiders out, and to limit competition from new manufacturers and emerging or newly integrated technologies.

If you want mass-market companies to make vehicles for racing, then go back to the old days where racing was all-inclusive and stock meant stock, modified meant almost anything goes, and open class was really open; when racing was mostly about getting people together, competing, and just having an all-around fun time. Not showing up and being told you can't enter b'cos of this rule or that approval or some other &(#$@#*%.

Otherwise, it's called market-driven capitalism, companies adapt or die off.

Nicelly put Access.

That is one reason I don't race anymore. To many freakin' rules to take the fun out of it.
