You can use WD-40, carb cleaner, or what I do when I want to totally clean the heck out of mine I take the wheels off, the electronics out and the engine off, spray the whole thing down with simple green take a tooth brush to loosen up the thick stuff and spray it down again, let it sit a minute then take it and rinse it off with the hottest water I can from the tap and it gets completelly clean.

i dont like to use water, you get water in the bearings and metal parts and would rust. what i do is spray the whole car down with wd40, then blow it off with a compressor, it looks like brand new and all the metal parts have oils instead of water on them. i get wd by the gallon for $15, you can also use denatured alcahol, its about the same price and will clean well, there is no oil in it but no water either, it cleans great and dries super fast but it can turn you plastic while, same with carb and brake cleaner, that can turn stuff white too, you need the brake cleaner that is bleach free. you would have to remove all the bearings from the suspension not to mention the ones in the center diffs or trans, dry them and re grease them.

Yep, instead of spraying them off, i just put mine in the dish washer. Make sure when you are done to put some lub on the metal parts. Your good to go.

yea i dont have an air compressor so i hafta use Krud Cutter and water. Then wipe all i can off and spray the car down with WD 40. Especially all the moving and metal parts. Then wipe and put in in front of a fan. Looks brand new every time

I've done that too, that actually works awsome, then when your done(i forgot to add this part) I dry it with a blow dryer and THEN spray it down with WD-40 to coat everything. Of course you take off the engine and electronics before you do this and don't let your wife catch you doing it either could be the end of you and your nitro car, LMAO

The only problem you have is with the dishwasher or water and degreaser is you take all the lubrication out from the bearings or any metal parts that has lubrication. WD40 IS NOT a sufficient lubricant for bearings. I use wd40 to clean. Like ehroof said spray it down, let soak and then blow off with compressor. It works every time and looks like new every time. wd40 is non conductive so it will not hurt electronics and it will actually help the dirt to fall off the next time you go to clean it. Just remember to blow it all off though after you spray it.

Since you are taken it apart anyways you might as well just use elbow grease, you know good old hard work, I use a electric tooth brush and a rag and then a little lube where it is needed and you are good to go!!!!!!!! Just my two cent's

Any of the above options mentioned will work perfectlly fine as long as you make sure it's dry when your done. Super hot tap water will dry almost completelly by itself in less than 15 minutes, but a hari dryer speeds the process along and it looks like brand new, then you can spray some WD-40 on it and the metal parts and blammo your done. Just take the motor and electronics off, lol.

Most folks might not own a air compressor. If your worried about the bearings giddyuperic is right take it apart and start scrubing.
