Default MGT 8.0

I just saw [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTJR1&P=7]THIS[/link]. I guess it's official that AE will release this after all. So that makes 2 new MGT's coming out. I can't see the 150cc tank giving much run time with a .50 engine though.

It looks like a regular MGT with a bigger engine, different body, and different tires. And I guess a new radio according to that 2nd link I posted.

Im told that the tranny is updated on this thing. I saw the other pics, and it appears the spur/clutch bell are updgraded as well. I like how the new 8.0 body matches the MMGT body too. I think its a nice update to the truck. Would be cool if it came stock with the spring loaded servo saver they offer. We'll just have to wait and see where the price is on this thing. I really doubt it'll be 700 street price. Still appears to use 14mm hubs. Blaaa... Looks good to me though. And a .50??? Hmm... that could be fun!

Clutch bell and spur picture - Looks like a better slipper design.

because its a airplane motor converted to ground use. And with that gearing, it will proly be just as fast as the normal MGT with alot more torque lol

I like it.. I think the new bod looks great..

I think it's a ballsy, cool move by AE.. As if to say "up yours truggy f.ags.." and go all in-your-face with a b.alls-to-the-wall MT like this...

Is it practical? No.. Will it make great lap times around a track?? No..

WHO CARES. It's cool..

Well having a Muggy must make me bi then.. Just kidding.. Gonna be full blown soon if I decide racing would be feasible for me, then I'll most likely be getting a full-on race truggy too..

Was just being provocative.. Should maybe have said "Screw the truggy trend.." instead of "up yours truggy fags.." A 50 engine though just calls for a bit extra junk-talkin'..

Nevertheless, a truck like this isn't meant to run laps around a track, but to run OVER stuff, and just be burly and fun... It's an MT(MONSTER truck..) after all, not an F1 car..

I agree about the shocks too.. Do they even still make Powerstrokes for the MGT??

You guys think this is just another rebadged chopper mill? Or did AE design this one from the ground up? Looks like CEN owners will finally have an upgrade to their NX 76 lol

I'm sure it's just a heli mill... Looks pretty cool, I'm kinda 50/50 on it though.. and that exhaust setup sucks IMO, what would are options for after market pipes be? [sm=thumbs_down.gif]

Nope, wouldn't work without other mods, and we don't even know if it's a better motor than the NX7.7 yet...

At least with this, people will have the option to get an old MGT, Nova or New Era motor mount and buy the motor of their choice (assuming the mounting holes haven't changed).. that's my main gripe about the CEN trucks, you're basically stuck with that .46 unless you make a mount yourself... speaking of, I can't believe no company has came out alternative mount for the CEN trucks [sm=confused.gif] I know there are more than a few mills that are worthy of pushing all that weight around, especially with a gearing change....
