I'm still alive, just got up .

As for the intake, I believe the drive should be flat on the bottom, you dont have to go crazy about getting it perfect, but that's what I do. Having the intake angle so the rear of the intake is higher than the front of the intake could give you more water at high speed. So in that case angling the grate would be ok.

The jet-villain is acting more like a parts box at the moment. horrible isnt it? The new surface drive villain is coming along nicely. I've patched up where I was going to put the jet, and in turn the transom and floor is very strong now. Only used fiberglass. Today if Steven is shipping at his normal speed, I should get all the parts I need today. It's fun having two project boats at the same time.

The jet-villain is getting the aluminum ripped out and all the fiberglass torn out(not easy). Havent wuite figued out what the bottom will be, probably ply wood(hobby sized)

No its when your at a speed that the boat is just about riding on the top of the water almost like your seating in the middle of a sea sow

I would even compare it more to driving a ski, not a big wide one, but more like a cross country snow ski.

btw I got my parts for my new villain(not a jet).......wheee stuff to build.

Overview

Six-Series Brushless 6-pole motors are high torque motors suitable for either direct drive or geared or geared applications. They feature the same diameter and mounting hole pattern as brushed 400 and 480 motors so they make excellent upgrades for these classes of models. Six-Series motors are ideal for direct drive applications such as hotliners and other LMR products 18- to 28-ounces. They are also ideal for 3D and aerobatic models weighing 28- to 35-ounces, and for scale park flyers weighing 25- to 40-ounces, when using a gearbox. This is a perfect match for aerobatic and 3D models like the E-Flite Brio 10 (EFL2275) when using a gearbox, and pylon racers and hotliners when used direct drive.

I believe those are both 6-poled motors, which would make them compatible, in fact the eflight looks like the SV27 motor, but I could be wrong.

DF,
The Align motors are all right for the price, I have a BL430L (3550KV) that I tried in my Mini Sprint Jet and the KV was to high for 3S. The motor came out of a little pylon plane and I have quite a few flights on it with 3S pulling around 27 amps static. Becarefull what vintage motor you get, the old ones are known for losing the end bell, not a huge issue and you can reattach it using green loc-tite but still a PIA.

I will take some pictures of the Min Sprint over the weekend, it is functioning but I have not dressed it up yet.

Cheers,
Jim
