They're both running single packs, the one guy is using 2150 2s and the other guys is running 1700mah 2s. They had changed the servo in the back to a heavier one and have said it's made a difference in running better, less losing prime.

but i could keep a small servo and just have a bigger battery, right?

I found a couple of these boats on ebay for around $25. Probably going to get one.

Does the drive need replacing?
Or is it just like the graupner mini?

ok thanks guys, i just remembered that i have 2x2s 2100mah lipos wired in series (14.8v) for my micro hydro so could i use them in the jet boat with this motor and esc combo http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-Smart-Model-2900-KV-Brushless-Motor-30A-ESC_W0QQitemZ270247852517QQihZ017QQcategoryZ34055QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

also that motor has a 2mm shaft so will it bolt up to the jet drive or do i need a new coupler

could i get some shaft the same size as the jet and get some props with different pitch and make impellers to try out, what size is the jet drive shaft anyway

i read something about a brass bushing mod, i cant find it again so could someone tell me about it, what is there for a bushing standard, i will be spinning around 40,000 rpm so i want it to last

and lastly is the stock steering servo good or do i need a better one, is this one good it says 1.98kg/cm or can i just use a standard size one http://cgi.ebay.com/2-x-SG90-9g-Mini-RC-Model-Micro-Servo-for-Airplane_W0QQitemZ280235724832QQihZ018QQcategoryZ34056QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

Thanks, Jacob

yes you could run it on that battery is rated for 18v and the motor is a direct replacement the ujoint is a 2mm and the impeller shaft is 2mm also . i wouldnt do the brass sleve i thank it puts to much drag . i did a bearing upgrade to the input side insted of running on plastic . there is a part# in here 2 times i have the # at home but im at work know . maybe headhunter has it he was the last one i told . and ill look back to find it . if you wont to make custem impellers youll need some stanless 2mm rod and some props and cut them down to fit . has to the stock servo your going to be tack it out to . its vary toy just left and right . theres no inbetween and pluse it wont work with your radio system . yes thats a good servo . i use the hitech 55

there are servo's, esc's and motors on hobby. city dot com.

Servo's start at $2.50
good esc: 40A for $35 (it wouldn't hurt, since it's a boat, not an airplane)
motor: 28-47 4900 Kv
3s lipo or lower.
(the ebay thing won't take 4s anyway.)

Sorry, you can't post links directly to hobby city.

a good rule of thuem is to get dubble the amp rate on the motor . if its rated for 20 then get a 40. if you can aford it . if not go 10 more . i started out run a 20amp esc on the heli max 2580kvin my white nockoff . now it was a 30amp . and it stays cooler

what ebay thing ? j.m.
