Chuck from Warbird Colors stopped in last night to take a look at the SisT kit and discuss paint options. Very nice to have such valuable resource so close by. Turns out he lives only a couple miles from me. Small world. He really knows his paint codes...Great guy and will be so much help. He, as most of us, truly has a passion for these great warbirds that we become so consumed with. I really enjoyed talking with him and exchanging thoughts on this terrific hobby. Plan on working with him closely on finishing this bird off when the time comes.

Everyone I talk to says the same thing. Use that resource!

I didn't see a paint scheme you were going to use yet... what are you thinking of. Thankfully the A8 lineup is chock-o-box full of great looking planes.

Well I just exchanged emails with Stephan From SisT to clarify some details and there was no mention of that. As far as I know he is still manufacturing planes and Working on some 1:4 scale kits as well. I hope..... My kit is # 16 So might be a collectors item if he did end up going out of business. I would really like to get my hands on the 1:4 scale 190 if and when it is released.

Never know in this biz it's always changing. Fingers crossed he keeps going....

Yep "Red 1" From Hans ...

I went with the HS-85 MG in the horrizontal stab. Cal Branton used the same set up with no problems. It is not too late to change it. I have not balanced it yet.

JOE from DJA...DO YOU HAVE D-9s IN STOCK? Just in time for Christmas too!

Hi Rebel Flyer, yep, got a couple, just-in-time. hehe The exchange rate is hard on our dollar right now

propwashed, so far, looks good. Stay in touch on it. I'll let you know as things progress, too.

BTW--about engine choices, my opinion, for what it's worth-----G45-----just right. Got a bunch of time on mine with that engine, I am very happy with it. I did have to add considerable noseweight to balance her (about 40 ounces). Not surprising nor detrimental to performance. Typical cruise was at about 2/3 throttle. Very miserly on fuel, the 17 ounce tank that Stephan offers is plenty for 15-20 minutes easy. 19 x 10, 3 bladed prop.

Thanks Joe, I believe it was you a while back I talked to about the 45 and remember you saying it pulls it just fine. I may have a steel mounting plate laser cut (same as the one SisT offers but steel.)to help with the nose wieght. I'm still planning on the 45. Try to be usefull with the up front wieght.. What servos are you running in the tail?

RCS needs to make a smaller radial to fit this bad boy...75cc radial would be perfect.

Is anyone running anything other than a G45-65 on this bird??????

I decided to run a supported carbon tube pushrod to the tail, with a "V" pushrod at the rear with one side of each "V" going through the fuse side and out to the tail control horns. Used an HS5945 servo up front(mounted on bottom of cockpit floor).
