Hi guys!

I have just bought a Composite-ARF Eurosport in grey primer, and would like to see some military
color schemes, if there are any schemes other than the black and the grey standard ones. I saw
one that looked bluish, but haven't been able to find it again!

Any suggestions??

Thanks,
Tor

Your only real option at the moment, I think, is the soon to be Saudi scheme. Some nice pics here...

Mark, nice link. I like it. That may be my future Euro scheme.

Tor,
Although not exactly scale, this did the job for me (twice to be exact!). As mentioned before, there are VERY few ( only gray or black). You may have to improvise and come up with something that looks like it could be a scale scheme even if it isn't scale for the Euro.

tor, the euro is so ugly, and the f-16 is so handsome, if you sell the euro soon and fly the f-16 more often you will be much happier

Thaks, guys, nice suggestions!! Mark: The saudi scheme is quite nice! I may also do like George and just make up a cool scheme with better visibility.

Blackcat - that's a VERY cool point! The thing is - if I wanna try out some hairy maneuvers, I'm not willing to risk my beautiful F-16....
Plus - it gives me an excuse to buy another 16 kg turbine, maybe another GBooster so I can swap between planes during repairs or service!!

Tor,

I made up my own 'scale' scheme a couple of years back. They look good not in plain grey or black !!

It appears to me that the gold or tan color is the aluminum conversion coating...probably Alodine 1200S. It provides a base for the primer to stick to, and provides corrosion protection in a single application. Primer and paint doesn't stick to aluminum very well without the conversion coat.
The skins are probably processed as soon as they are completed, then put in stock until next assembly demand.

The green color is probably an epoxy or urethane primer water borne primer on either composite or metallic parts.
The lack of primer on the outside of the skins is probably to keep the primer coat as light as possible.

After flight test, it will go to the paint shop for the customer specified color scheme.
This is just my .02 worth, (38 years as an engineer-retired) at the second largest aircraft manufacturer in the USA.

That was my guess, too - I suppose you guess more educated than me, Harley!

Tom - skal du fly i helgen?

Sorry Harley, but it is in fact the composite surface. The eurofighter has most parts of the airframe in composite structure, not a lot of aluminum on the exterior of this bird :-)
Best regards
Hank
