I want to put a larger carb on my Homelite 30cc. I understand that the Walbro WA-167 is a good one to try. Where is the best place to locate one for a good price? How much should I expect to pay? Also, this is my first conversion engine. How do I swap the carbs? Is it as simple as just unbolting the old carb and then bolting on the new carb? I’m assuming I’ll then have to tweak the high and low speed needles. Should I expect a big performance increase by doing this? Thanks.

Some carbs are old numbers an may not be available. Unfortunately there is no way to look up Walrbo carbs by venturi and options. I resorted to looking through the entire part number listing to find the numbers that had the features I wanted. The only way to see if what you want is available is to check through a retailer.

Google is pretty good sometimes. Searching "walbro wa-167" turned up this near the top of the list:

Good Link
This carb is one of my favorites for 26 - 45cc engines. In 45cc it gets a bit small, but soooo sweet to adjust.

Part Name WA-167-1
Venturi (mm) 11.11
* Kit - Repair K10-WAT
** Kit - Gasket/Diaphragm D10-WAT

Here is a list of Walbro carbs with their venturi sizes. Remember thaty just because the venturi is the right size, doesn't mean it will fit the motor you will be using. It is best to at least see a picture and to know the bolt spacing.

Thanks. That's great for the average gas engine. I needed 6-7mm venturis when I was looking.

I'm still looking but have found a few. I look on Ebay, and when I see a new number I see what it is. Walbro didn't reply to an email inquiry. This is what I'm doing:

you can not use a WA167A without having a new intake manifold that will let presure from crankcase to ad more air for carb. I have tried for two weeks to get top end out of 167A on Homelite 25cc modified and just did it. Adds 2-3mph on top end.
