most times you can run it for about the first 2 tanks or so before touching the needles. But sometimes you have to lean them out just a bit to keep it running.

You can lean them out little by little and by the time you start to reach full throttle you should see some big power gains. Just keep an eye on your temps to make sure you dont lean it out too much.

yea just recently purchased a micro temp gun and it helps alot. Do the BB motors run hotter then smalls or should i try to stay in same temp range, like 230-245. thats during run time after break in. Break in i might try to keep it in the low 200s

big blocks should run cooler than .18 and smaller. i would first say tune to performance not temp, if it runs good and there is plenty of smoke your ok, check temp as a back up, over 280 is a problem, richen it up. from 200 to 270 is good, if your running it hard, expect 270. some guys try to tune for 220 no matter what, from idle to hard running. it doesnt happen.

yea usually after a minute of hard running i check the temp at idle and its about 220-230. When its running its usually at 245-255. im sure thats ok. And plus thats running on the rich side. I dont have much money as most of you know so im trying to make my motors last as long as possible

OK my monsoon should be coming shortly so im about to make a run to my LHS. Whats a good reciever pack for it? ive never bought a reciever pack for any of my other cars and im getting tired of buying AA batteries every few weeks. And i use a MC-9 medium plug on my .18 motors. Will that plug work for the SH .28? If not whats the best medium plug i can get cause ive tried hot plugs on my other cars and never had any luck with them. Car never ran good with a hot plug.

I cant wait till it gets here I got my game face on!!!!!!

So how are the diffs on the monsoon, are they solid out of the box or would I need to go out and get an upgrade right away or shim them out cause i don't mind working on my cars but really don't like playing with diffs. Also is there any steel spur gears that work with the monsoon?

the monsoon needs diff fluid put in them to make them handle better. Also the monsoon comes with a steel spur already. No upgrade needed.

like clermont said just change the diff fluids. I have a monsoon and the diffs hold up just fine. No upgrades needed or shimming. Just fluids is all.

It takes a beating. Like most other rtr's the steering servo should get replaced. Its a good solid truggy. Holding up well and I have some big jumps on my track. Ask Chris lol
