WOOOOOOOOHOOO just order a Monsoon from clermont!!!!!! This is my first 1/8 i cant wait till it comes in! But i need to know some stuff about it. What kind of Fuel do i need, 20% or 30%?? Is the redcat 5 tank break in the best?? what is the best glow plug for SH .28?? I've heard that the pipe is practically touching the gas tank, will i need to adjust that? lol thats about it. Just want to get prepared before it comes in so i can start driving the minute it comes in. Also im asuming that it will come with the newer digital FM transmitter, that will be nice im sure. I'll hafta figure that one out for myself.

also is there any way to get the monsoon to wheely?? i know its really wide and low but idk if you could wheely with some adjustments or not

20% is best for fun running, os #8 plug is what i use and reccomend, do the 5 tank break in, thats what i do to all my rc's and they work fine. just bend the pipe holder so the pipe sits away from the tank, its easy to do. it should have the digital fm radio system. i think it might wheelie if you stiffen up the rear suspension springs.

Ditto, also I would loctite the 2 bolts on each side that hold the front upper and lower a-arms to the hub. I had them keep coming out on me and also loctite the motor mount bolts that bolt to the chassis (came loose also and messed up my spur gear a little but still works. I have also seen a couple of monsoons with the wheel nuts loose out of the box and not loctited to check those too.

ok i'll locktight the motorscrews and maybe put a drop of super glue on some of the screws that screw into plastic. Atleast thats what i did with my 1/10 cars. i kept stripping out the screws and stuff that screw into plastic because i tightened them too tight. little plastic swirls would pop out when i took a screw out lol. And eroof i read what you said about stiffining the springs on the avalanche to make it wheely. I'll try the same with the monsoon.

You do not really need to loctite the screws that screw in the plastic because the do not vibrate out hardly. Most all of the screws that go into plastic on this truck are like wood screws with very big threads so they do not come put. Just snug them down and make sure they are tight.

Congrats!

Youl never get the Monsoon to wheelie, its a race truck, not a monster. Its sprung soft and sits low. Youll love it, its got hella torque! (yea, I just said hella)

never say never, nick at redcat said he was able to get it to wheelie, i believe with a stiff rear end it will wheelie, my avalanche does and its the same basic platform with bigger tires.

I'll try to get a good video of a wheelie to, just gotta tighten that back supsension up. Also don't forget to thread lock the engine mount screws, I think thats probably the most important one to do. Maybe ill try the wheelie later today if the rain drys up! It's here to! Hmm makes me wonder how effectivly a guy could rig his truck up for wet driving.
