Saw this when checking on the b-25 mitchell status!!
I will pick this up for sure....
Now, why can't they bring the Corsair giant to a ARF form??????????

They classify it as a .60 but you can use a 1.20 in it 4-stroke?.....
I guess this follows there kit recomendations though.

I am sure that they will cut quite a bit of the little building steps to make it go together faster and that should make it lighter....

I am excited!
Do not care that there are like CMP that makes a 1.40 mustang ect. I have always liked Topflites kits.....

WOnder what the retracts will look like!!

At 279$ this is a steal!!!
Looks like H9 will not be selling much of there mustang .60 size anymore~!!
The only thing that I see that is concerning is the entire package!!!
Comparing specks to H9 p-51...
Specs

Wing Span: 65.5 in
Overall Length: 55.75 in
Wing Area: 745 sq. in
Flying Weight: 7 - 8.5 lbs
Engine Size: .61 - 1.00 (2-stroke), .72 - 1.00 (4-stroke)

Top flites
SPECS: Wingspan: 64.5" (1640mm)
Wing Area: 721 sq in (46.5 sq dm)
Weight: 8-7 - 10lb (3970 - 4540g)
Wing Loading: 28 - 32 oz/sq ft (85 - 98 g/sq dm)
Length: 56" (1420mm)
Engine: .60 -_.91 cu in (10 - 15cc) 2-stroke
OR .91 - 1.20 cu in (15 - 20 cc) 4-stroke

Do you see the issue???

I am not sure that you want ot go with a big heavy OS 120 surpass @ 35oz....
I think you would want to keep it around 20-25oz....

But I still would like to get this one over H9's

I have a couple of OS120SUR11 sitting around just waiting for a plane like this. Hope they offer several more for this engine(Corsair,P40,Hellcat). Can anyone read the nose cone inscription??? My old eyes can't read it on these small pics.

I like the scheme on it...
The olive drab is not one that you usually see ARFed or built.... Or maybe I need to get out more???

This plane would be fun with a YS 110!

It would be a great daily flyer.

I added specs to prevy post...
I am not sure that you would want the 1.20 surpass in it????
then again, H9's planes float in so the added weight may be a non-issue...

I would just think you would want keep the weight around los 20oz'es.....

Peerhaps the 1.20 surpass would work just fine!

I supose a easy way to find out would be to look at the building forum about the 1/7th TF p-51 !!!!

I'll be converting mine to Electric when the time comes. Through www.unitedhobbies.com electric will be cheaper than glow with better performance. I like the scale location of the tailwheel (a must for a Mustang)...I hope it's retractable.

I'll watch the builders forum when plane becomes available. If it builds tailheavy then wt of OS120 non issue. If it is nose heavy or neutral I have Saito 100 I could remove from H9 Sopwith and replace with 91fs. I definitely want this plane. I like the fact it comes with"flat" finish from TF and size is right with my H9 warbirds. Given specs from Kochj, the wingloading will be higher and probably won't float in like H9's:Hope the retracts are STRONG,it would be nice to get some long term use from stock landing gear.

It would be GREAT if the Keleo exhaust system for the H9 Mustang will fit this airplane. I think the Saito 100 would be a good choice.

Of course, it needs a 4-blade prop. I wonder if we can get Keleo to make an exhaust for the RCV90 or 120 so we can swing a big fat 4-blade prop!

Here is a link to the Keleo exhaust, for those that haven't seen it before:

Yeah,

I looked at the rcv geared engines and I have talked with Kelo on the phone many times at length....(I have his mufflers for my ginat p-51)
I just do not like the sound of the RCV's.....
I have not heard one in person so I can only judge from what I hear on the videos......
Also, the 3or 4 bladed props I have seen the the RCV engines advertise Are APC......
And these props are so skinny (hardly look scale) and are racked with high pitch.....
Perhaps someone has run one of these with a scale 4-3 blade prop?
That would then interest me!

They are very optomistic about release dates...
No one has it yet, that I am aware of...
My guess is that is will be out late Jan or early Feb.

Well I just noticed a late January delivery for the P-51 .60 ARF, So much for my Christmass gift...

Now Kelvin @ Keleo Creation will make the scale muffler stack with the shrouds , same system as the H9 P-51 150. He will make it first to fit the Saito 125, my engine of choice so far for this bird. The saito 125 is tha same size as the saito 100 and is as powerful as the OS120 surpass. the os120 surpass is +/- 35 OZ for 2.2 hp vs Saito 125 @ 21OZ atr 2.2 hp.

Mine has been ordered since it was on the site of tower back in late october. For the retracts there is a new company making .60 size electric retracts worth a try, check them out and call the guy... www.lado-tech.com

This is another good hit by Top Flite. The H9 "was" a great 60 size aircraft but lacks details and improvement capacity for retracts and misses the flaps...

Looking forward to this plane

I am also waiting for delivery of this Mustang but I am still undecided on the engine.

I have a Saito 1.25 and even though I am sure that this engine will fly this plane scale it will not give me the performance that I am looking for. I want this plane to really move.

The YS 1.10 would be another choice but according to specs, would be similar to the Saito 1.25.

I am now considering a two stroke instead of a four stroke and so I am calling on Bob from Jett engineering, to have a look at this plane, and chime in on what Jett engine he thinks would PULL this plane.

I have looked at the Jett 1.20L and also the Jett 1.00L

The specs on the Jett1.20L state that it will spin a 16 X 8 prop 9,200 rpm. That is what I am getting from a Saito 1.80.

I have a Jett 90LX in a pylon racer and for speed, it is amazing but it is not made to spin a large prop.

The Jett 1.00L can spin a 15 X 8 at 10,000

So what do you say Bob?

Which engine do you think should power this plane?

The YS 91 will fly this plane just fine. That is what I will be using. I know there are a lot of people who don't understand the power YS engines have, so please don't tell me it is too small. I am not going to race the plane.
