This is the peakmodel Extra 330L 25%

My setup:
YS110 FZ-s engine
MG995 cheap servos x5
APC 16x6 prop
peakmodel carbon fiber 3" spinner
6v 1400mah hidrimax battery

Ready to fly les fuel weight = 3750 with above setup

http://www.peakmodel.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_16&products_id=463&zenid=a8226d7e7528fe795fcaece4ff7e1237

Specification:
Wing span:68''(1730mm)
Length:64''(1630mm)
Wing area: 915sq in (59sq dm)
Flying Weight: 8.6-10 lbs(3900-4500g)

Teste flight was perfect!!!

Extreme control response, very very light wood and construction, the downside is the fragility but planes are made to fly right!!!

Jose;
I like your video and your flying. I have been looking at the Peakmodel planes. I was going to get the SPE26cc gasser, but the power of the YS 110 looks perfect.

Very nice Jose

As you know I have the Peakmodel Extra 260 with a SPE40 in it but I feel its too much engine for the light frame these people make. A 26cc or glow engine would have been a better match.

However I also have in a box a Peakmodels Extra 330L 25%!! This one is getting a 1.20 2 stroke and Specktrum digital servos (thanks to eBay) and Li-Io pack with a regulator for longer flight times.

Is the YS110 you are using the new FZ110S?

Cheers mate
Roy

I agree the SPE40 would be to much power and weight in this light 25% airframes.

It is the ys110 FZ-S, new version, provides excelente power, but the glow mess is the downside...

Jose.

Well thats the good thing about the 400cc only minimum mess. I am planing on putting the 40cc into a Hanger 9 Extra 260 27% which a club member is selling. It normally has a DA50 in it but was told its bit heavy for it so the SPE40 should be perfect match.

I have a YS110 as well which is going into a GP Venus II. Looks like a great engine and very popular.

Anyone know how the Edge540 does with the 40cc? (Is there a seperate thread for the 540? I have not found one yet.)

I'm taking a serious look at the Peak/Cermark 260.
I think the 26cc is "good" in Jose's videos, but I would prefer a bit more pull-out power.... and that is making me wonder if any of the other planes (330,540,Yak, etc) would haul the 40cc better.

I'm also considering the Su / 26cc combo with standard'ish servos - more of a super-cheap, but fun sport/aerobatic plane... followed by a Brillelli 46cc / EF Yak combo about 6 months later.
Sitting here with money in hand... and cant decide what to do.

Jose is using a YS110 not a 26cc gas. Pull out with the YS 110 is great. I couldn't imagine needing any more power. I bought this combo based on Jose's video.

The EF/Brillelli is very nice too. I would go that route if I did it over. Going through a gallon of CoolPower 30% in a weekend sucks.

I have the Extra 260 25% with a 40cc and I regret buying it with a SPE40. Not only has the motor been troublesome but its too heavy for such a very light airframe. Yeah power is insane but there is point where too much power is not good if its not matched up to the airframe.

I am building another 25% (Extra 330L) and this time its getting a 1.20 2 stroke glow and power to weight will be far better than the 40cc. Unfortunately the 25% size is difficult as its a bit too small for a gasoline engines and if you go with a large glow engine you are forking out on glow fuel, hence why I went no bigger than 1.20 in glow.

If you want to go gas save your money and buy a 28% Edge or Extra and add a DA50 or DL50. I have a 28% Wild Hare Extra 300LX Wild Hare with a DA50 and is awesome!

I am now considering pulling the 40out of the Extra 260 and selling it to fund the new Comp ARF YAK55 SP

Yea Playntraffic, the video listed above is the fz110, I was talking about Jose's Extra260/26cc video... it looks like it flys nice, but not over-powered by any means.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l7kIrdovv4

Honestly, I think I'm going to pass on these 25%'ers.
Go 40cc... its overweight. Go 26cc... its slightly underpowered. Go with large glow... it will drink you poor.

As attractive as these Peakmodels/Cermarks are for their size & price, I think I'll probably go with a Fliton 330 / Saito 100 combo.
I've already got the radio gear for that size and even if I wipe out the 330 the saito will easily move on to the next project, and there are TONS of planes for that motor.

As for gas, I think I'll wait a bit and probably go straight to the EF/Brillelli combo... or something similar.
(Too bad... I really did want to get a small gasser next)

For all you guys searching a good engine 25% combination, i highly recomend the evolution 26gt2 in the all 25% airplanes peakmodel sells, matched to a 18x6 wood or a 17x8 apc prop this engine is very good in that models.

For those who want to save money, the best option is the peak 26 + extra 260 25%, if you not have time or do not like mesing with engines , i sugest the os 120AX engine, or spend some more and get the 26gt2 gas.

The yak 25% and edge 25% i think are capable of handling the SPe40 engine, they are the bigest and strongst structure.

Always keep in mind to make light setups, 1 elevator servo (when possible), 1 ruder servo, nimh packs not oversized.

This are very nice airplanes, but you should setup it light to enjoy the most out of.

Jose.

Jose,
Did your peakmodel come with really beefy and heavy landing gear? I just got a yak and the landing gear is super beefy... and heavy... Mine are strait... I noticed yours are rounded. Are yours heavy? Stock?
