fizzwater2 -> Remote needles on Q500 w/backplate mounts (10/26/2007 5:40:07 PM) Where are guys mounting the remote needles when using QJ40's with the square backplate mounts? Just wondering.

Mount it to the side of the fuselage just aft of the engine ... screw it into the firewall, or preferably add a piece of plywood inside of the nose to bolt it to. See image (a bit fuzzy, but you will get the idea) Bob

fizzwater2 -> RE: Remote needles on Q500 w/backplate mounts (10/26/2007 7:13:32 PM) Bob - thanks for the picture. I do like the idea of the remote needle - that was one of the nice things about the rear intake F1 engines - the needle valve was way behind the prop.
