Strange, I posted yesterday and asked if you would mind my posting the progress of my build on your thread and it never showed up? What's up with that? Anywho, do you mind Mode.

Tomakazi, By all means, keep the thread going! Maybe post some photos to appease those who feel they're necessary.

my asking for some progress photos was for everyone who may be interested in this build of the BUSA N28.............i have some friends who are interested in this version of the N28.............as you said though, you are on dial up, which may be a bit slow, so please continue on with your dialog only version of a build thread........it's worked thus far (some 9 pages worth i might add) and although it has been side tracked with trains and such, we are still able to comprehend what you are doing, no photos needed

Obviously, what transpired between myself and Summerwind is not what you see above. Thankfully he edited his posts, making what I said in response to him lack continuity, so I simply deleted it. I live in rural Minnesota, my connection speed is fairly slow. I have uploaded photos to R/CU. Having built model airplanes most my life (58 years), I lack interest in taking a photo of an airplane build which is basically stock and has no outstanding features to present to you.

I am open to anyone building any kit of a R/C Nieuport 28 posting here and if they would like to post photos, be my guest. Tashley has stated he would like to continue on with his build of his N-28 here and I am glad to accommodate!

Due to conditions beyond my control, I lost the handle of Mode One, here on R/CU. It's a long, boring story and I won't get into it. However, I'm back now as Schnap-Roll. Suffice it to say that at times I let some people infuriate me here on R/CU and I'm going to give it my best effort to not let this happen, anymore. This Forum is about R/C model airplanes and that is going to be my focus.

I have built a Seagull Models Ultimate Bipe since I last posted as Mode One here in this thread on my Balsa USA Nieuport 28 build. The Nieuport stares forlornly at me when I go to the shop to work on various projects. Next fall I will get going on it again. A local hobby shop in my home town quit business and had a Zenoa 26cc engine they were offering at an excellent price, so the power question has been answered and the money spent.

The reason I'm posting here now is; I get a flier from an Historic Aviation, a mail order/On-line Book store and I see a new Nieuport 28 book has been released and I thought some might be interested. The name of the book is THE NIEUPORT 28 America's First Fighter. It's 272 pages and 400+ B&W and color photos and illustrations. Sorta pricy at $59.95! However, I think this is news worthy stuff so wanted to post about it.

Schnap, MO, old friend glad to have you back. Just sussed out how Im rigging the front flying wires on my 1/3 scale and am gelling on an idea for the rear ones. I've changed so much on this thing that I still have a box full of wood, honest. Wings fuse and tail parts built, still have to sheet the fin/rudder but the stab/elev is done. No stringers on the back of the fuse yet as there was no reason to beat them up while doing other stuff. Soon as the flying wires are done I'll sheet the front part of the fuse and then were on the way. Still lots to do but it's exciting having something this big sitting on the bench and looking more and more like an airplane. Enough of that, how's your 1/4 scale coming along, I need to go back and read to refresh my memory on where you were with it. Wife and I are headed for the Carribean for a week tomorrow AM so I'll catch up more when I get back. Later, Doc.

I was to the point where it was time to start creating clouds of balsa dust with sandpaper. She is basically framed up.

The old Carribe, huh, you going to do some sailing?

What ever happened to Tashley?

Well get those clouds forming. Parasailing maybe, thats kinda fun. Headed for Cozumel in search of pineapple flavored rum drinks, tequila sunrises, a gal named Margarita and some sun and schnorkling in the bluest water on the Earth. Basically R&R, no phones no schedules no ****ey boss, oops I shouldn't have said that , spies are everywhere. I was 62 last Fri. The better half will be 60 in two weeks, this is an annual trip for centuries now and we start planning it earlier each year, I'm on vacation, get to work on that airplane. See you later, Doc.
I'll be back in a week and I expect some progress!!!
Just sent Tashley an e-mail so we'll see if he appears.

I'm still alive and well guys, just working on other projects. I'm hoping to get back on the 28 soon. I have most of my documentation in order and will be trying to make this build fairly scale in most aspects with the exception of the under cambered wing. See y'all soon.

Good to hear from you Tomakazi! I haven't done anything on My N-28 since the first part of February. So, I understand other projects. Right now I have all my airplanes ready to go and am finishing up on an R/C Sailboat. Where I live, 4 of the last 6 weekends have been snowy and the rest were just plain cold! For the continental United States, we have as long and as cold of winters as anywhere. When winter keeps on keepin' on, it gets very depressing!
