Hello...
I just bought a new Pulse XT 40 by hangar9... look very sharp
a lot of people suggested this plane as a step up....
I will be using nitro engine Supertigre 45

Is it too much of a plane.. I currently fly an easy sport....
Tx

You should be fine. It's more aerobatic than your Easy Sport. Enjoy and have fun.

Hope its still flying.

Its one of the best looking and flying sport/aero models out there. Depends on setup, but it can be docile or aggressive. Get a good instructor to go over it with you.

I got 132 mph (real not scale) out of mine, OS46, 11x6 APC, OK downwind, slight dive, but rock solid.

A bit fragile in fuse around L/G, so add carbon struts for l/g bracing.

Great looking, even better flying.

I got my Wings on its maiden flight. I fly Showtime 50, Funtanax 100, Twist, IMAC (basic), but still enjoy it more than most. I would train any of my students on it.

Hi, I am going to add my 2 cents.

I just got this plane last week. it was a easy build. This was my first ARF. I am using this plane to finally step away from my Nexstar. I put a spektrum receiver in it and a OS 46AX. This plane moves. I have no problems with inverted flight, loops, or rolls. I am working on adding other tricks to my grouping.

I would highly recommend this plane.

This plane would have to be the most highly recomended step up plane from a trainer.... I have had mine for around 4 months and it comes to the field with me on every trip. Im running JR radio gear, O.S. 46AX, 12x5 Master Airscrew Prop. The plane is fast with this setup and as I have mentioned in many posts about this aircraft it is capable of some 3D aerobatics. If set-up folling manual instructions it will hold knife edge flight, and will even hover (wont pull out of hover tho), thats with the setup I have anyway. It looks great, flies awesome and gets my vote for your next plane. Its rock solid.....

Thank you so much for comments.... the pulse XT 40 is the right plane for everyone..... I enjoy it very much......
i got a plug and play with futaba 7c fast......

I having a bit of difficulty taking of staright..... to much left due to engine torque ???... any suggestions ???

agree wit you currently using an evo 46 should i change the prop to your suggestion 12 x 5 ?

This is an awesome second/third plane.

However the gear area needs re-inforcement.

Double up the wooden gear insert and add ply to the fuselage sides to spread out any loads.

You'll be glad you did!

I have the same problem with mine on take off it tracks sideways, not really to sure of the reason but it still does it with the 12x5. My guess would be engine/prop torque, and also the movement in the tail wheel aids tracking problems on take off. Just feed a little opposite rudder and get the tail wheel off the ground quicker and bob's your uncle....

Something called P-factor. P-factor more than torque will pull tail draggers left on take-off. Since tail draggers sit nose high on the initial roll out, the wind is striking the propeller at an angle, instead of dead on, like in a tricycle geared plane. The ascending blade of the prop (right side) is creating more thrust than the descending blade (left side) until you have enough airspeed to lift the tail, in which case P- factor will go away. The favorite time for the torque roll monster to rear it's head is just after lift off, at full power, but not enough airspeed to keep the ailerons effective.

So it's just normal behaivor, compensate with the rudder, adding as much right rudder as needed to track straight. Remember to center the rudder when the tail wheel comes up.

Heh, ground school was actually good for something, if not an actual job. ;)

Capt. Thannk you so much for your lesson.....I guess this applies to al tail dragers...... ( real ones too?)

anyway I also need to work on the left stick... I forget at times its there.....

I also just bought a GP cherokee its a new arf by GP ... looks nice..... O.S 55 for power will see......
and I got a CNP cessan 182... it looks very nice.. it was cheap too but I understand its a hard one to fly.....will report back in due time......

thank you and best

...Yeap... rudder will do....

however Iwill change the prop to see the diif in speed engine performance...

Yup, P-factor effects the big tail draggers too.

Clear skies!

I've flown mine for a couple of years now w/ the EVO 46 (take the muffler apart, remove the baffle and drop it in the nearest waste recepticle! LOL) and a 12x6 prop. Seems to be about the perfect combination. It's a great airplane.
