I'm waiting for the kit by Walter Umland he's going to do of The Trident (You Name It). But he's been ill lately so it might be a while.

If you have never had a kit from Walter Umland then you have never had a great kit. Definitely worth the wait. I have an origional kit and wouldn't waste my time with the wood Consolidated put into the box. Besides it's too valuable.
Walts kit will be laser cut with perfect cad plans ehdorsed by Larry Scarinzi. The wood is perfect 4/6 pound stock with dead straight stripwood and blocks that will float out of the box if you don't hold them down.
Wait for the kit due out the early part of 08. It will be worth it. Better you go to his website and log in and sign up for a kit and look over what else he is doing. I have about a dozen of his planes, they are jewels every one.

I have purchased 3 of Walter's kits and they are all great kits. Good wood, and lots of hardware. He seems to be back to work again, for I just received my Jess-Ter from him last week. I would for sure get on the list if wanting a new kit.
