Best bang for the buck
over 300 flights on mine ( since last spring )
does not have crow ( I don`t need it )
use it on 3/D, shrikes, bipes, slow flyers, etc
very happy with it.
also have old Prism 7 over 700 flights faultless
8 hitec receivers all super performers
also own 3 futabas but love my hitec stuff and can vouch for it
reliable.

Have the eclipse and love it as do several of my friends who also use it.Have half a dozen futabas and like the fine too but this is my only computer radio. They did about everything I wanted.Bought the Eclipse mainly for the spectra module which is wonderful.Have lot of planes all with different receivers this allows use of one Tx for any of them.Really don't care to much for all the adjustements but am slowly learning to appreciatte them too.Is kind of nice to change settings without taking the plane apart.Hard to beat the Price I believe was $219 at tower then with disc of $15 I believe for over $150 etc left it barely over $200 with the module course that didn't include the rec etc. There were some prices for the whole pkg that when you looked rec servos etc.may have been just as cheap if you wanted them also.Good Luck.

Thank you guys, but i have another newb question, im not to familiar with the term "crow" and what does the spectra module exactly do. Also if i got the hitec radio or whatever i can build the recieving part with other brands right as long as i have the same crystal on the reciever.

thx

The reason for the Spectra module is that you can set it to any channel no need for all rc to be onsame channel like most other radios.Just pop out the module and use small included screw driver to set the channel and reinstall. That is what I like can use it on any channel and can be used for allbrands of equipment even the ones with different polarities such as I believe Airtronics?
The spectra module is seprate if you look in TOwers catalog will see it with normal channels or says w/spectra module you want that!Without the spectra it is like any other Tx.as far as channels. Can't tell you about Crow but I believe although not on the aircraft function think there is some way to use it and have seen explanations about it from people lot more experienced than me.Good Luck.

"Crow" is where flaps are down and ailerons are up at the same time to really slow the plane down in a dive or a landing approach. "Crow" is not available in Acro mode, but is available in Glider mode if you have a sailplane. I understand the "Crow" option will be available in the Acro mode in the future via a software update. The great thing I like about the Eclipse is that it is upgradable with software updates.

why not set the flaps to a switch and have the alerions go up with flaperions.

What is " Acro" mode ?? .... Glider seems intuitive but acro seems a bit strange..... Does it mean a specific word ?? ..... kw

My best guess is that "Acro" is short for acrobat or acrobatic. I think the words acrobatic and aerobatic are interchangeable.

Good point. I used to own the Hitec Flash 5X TX, and it had three modes: Glider, Acro, and Glid-Acro.

I have the Eclipse with the Spectra module. It is a fine radio transmitter with enough good features to keep one busy for a while. I really like it. But, it nees a tunable receiver to make it a first class, modern system.

If I go to a contest and want to avoid being in a freq. conflict, I have to carry a handfull of spare crystals. And then I may not have the right crystal and still have a freq. conflict.

The transmitter is only half of a system. Where's the other half? :
