Ok guys,
Ive now heard from Mr. Devine via email. He is agreeing to box up all my gear that I sent him and send it to me as he no longer has time to do rc airplanes at the present time. He also has a plane that is not finished in "as is" condition and he asked if I wanted him to send that too. I replied that yes, send me both the plane and my gear back to me. I also requested that he email me when he is shipping out my stuff so I will know when to expect it to arrive.
So having said all that, I will wait by the mailbox and see what develops. I will let you know when I recieve my goods. If you have any further questions about anything, feel free to pm me or email me.
Thanks,
John

Hey John..Good for you. Maybe Mr. Devine could also throw in my "as is" Laird Solution in the box that he's sending off to you.

Good flying,
paul

So John you heard from Jack - was it as a result of this thread? Regardless, I am glad it appears you're getting closure on the topic.

Yes MasterAlex, I can only assume it was a result of this thread. We'll see what comes of it regarding the closure part.I would only hope it would be.
Thanks,
John

Well Gang,

Let me add my 2.23 cents (Canadian) I bought a Corsair from Carl, previous owner of
NWT. It took almost 1 year to get some action from Carl. His mother had passed away,
and he was having a terrible time with that, and the business was suffering badly.
When I called, Carl broke down on the phone, and said he would have to sell the company. I called Jack, as i had sought advice from him on the F8 Bearcat. He was schoked that things were that bad. After more than a few calls back and forth, Jack informed me he was in the process of buying the company, and he would pick up my plane. More time passed, approx 6 months, e-mails and calls back and fotrh, Jack offered to assemble it for me.
Knowing Jack`s rep, i said ok, details were struck upon, and i sent a nib Fox 2.4, a nib Robart 655 ( been so long, right part#)? , air tail wheel, servos... Now, and I speak the truth, it has been 6 YEARS. I have e-mailed, gotten excuses. I have called, gotten excuses. Now, the last delay was last year, as Jack and his lovely wife Dani had a beautifull little girl. They even sent us a whole swack of pictures. I have never met Jack or Dani face to face.
I have heard all the reasons, none life threatening; busy at school, he`s the union rep at the school, over his head with work, busy building a drag car with his son ( maybe JohnVH knows of this), been busy with the baby, his business is just getting caught up on all the orders, mine is the next one to do.
We have talked about finishing it to needing paint, he will come up one weekend, once even giving me the time and day, and location. All in all, probably been over 20 phone calls where we spoke, and infinite # of messages left on his machine. Every time we spoke, he lamented how busy he was, and talked endlessly about how good the plane was. Now, please don`t say "why didn`t you" or "I would have..." At one stretch, I left 8 messages on their machine, and no reply. Checked, and the number was correct. If some one dos not want to return your message, makes it tough. My friend Nigel a.k.a. Monocoupe, even tried, and managed to speak with Jack once. He promised Nigel that Kerry would get his plane. That was 1 1/2 years ago.... It`s about a 4 hour drive to Jack`s place.
Again, thanks to Nigel, i put a couple of messages on RCScalebuilder. Nigel even spoke to the moderator over there. I last spoke to Jack in early may of this year. Same story, plane would be done without paint, nothing installed. I have heard, over the years, various forms of the tale; w/servos. no retracts installed; engine in; retrs in, no paint; painted; no engine in; everything else in. I have asked for the plane to be sent to me on the last call. Put everything in a box, send it to me. What do i have? Nothing....
Nigel would have pestered him ' till armageddon, me, had a knee replacement 6 years ago, and have been dealing with nerve damage. So, the plane wasn`t priority. But, i would have appreciated an honest answer. In May, my doc informed me of the one disease that all us guys fear, prostrate. I told Jack this, all i expected was some affirmative action, as i`ll fight through it, and the Bearcat is my fave plane, and would be good for, well you know. I wish to keep the health issue very low key, i will win. So, let`s talk about Jack, if that`s okay?
I hope all is well with him and Dani, but I would love to get an e-mail stating the plane has been sent, withy verifacation. I`ve run out of options. Don`t want to get angry with him, but it might get there... Hope he`s looking at these posts, i still believe in him, and hope he does the right thing for those who have dealt, or will be dealing with him.
At this point, i`m doubting the plane will be built nice, could be wrong, but i just want my d%&n plane so I can work on it!!
For those who need it, his home #425-488-2606.
his email jdevine97@comcast.net
Sorry for rambl`n guys, lets hope Jack gets things figured out! Any ideas, PLEASE post!

Take care all,
Kerry

The email that I replied to Jack with ( the one he sent me last week asking me if I wanted the 'as is' plane and that he would box my stuff up and send all that back to me) was returned as undeliverable. I read the return notice when I got to work this morning. ARRRGGGGHHH!!!!

Sounds like I would be making a special trip no matter what it cost to get there. It is the principle of the matter, if you know what I mean.

I wish people would quit saying that he is a nice guy. Because he is not. He takes peoples money and does not supply the products, and has many people very mad at him. I see him as someone no one should do bussiness with. No RCS site there are people who stand up for him. There is a post that was closed becuase they said it what not right to piont uot that he ripps people off.

RCSB will close ANY thread that is a flame fest. Flames have no point at all and don't get anything done.

And for the record Jack isn't a nice guy, he is a great guy. No he isn't perfect, but I for one have seen him go well out of his way to help me and both the planes I purchased from him.

OK, so he is great because he helped you, and screwed countless others?

I guess that RCSB knows something we don't. Jack Devine Models has been removed from there site. This is a good thing. I'm sorry but great people don't steal.
