Status: offline 		I have a 4*60 and I just bought a o.s. 91 4 stroke for it. I would like to know if any body has ran a 3 bladed prop on this set-up? Gene

Status: offline 		I'm sure they have. A 14X8 or 14X6 2 blade sounds about right for the 91. For 3 blade you drop an inch in length, so you need a 13X8 or 13X6 3 blade, and a spinner to match. Good luck!

Status: offline 		MA recomends when going from a 2 blade to 3 blade prop a 1 inch drop in diameter and 1inch increase in pitch.

Status: online 		A 14x4 or 13x6 two blade runs well on the .91 Surpass, so maybe 13x4 three blade might work well? Try a few sizes and see. You'll be able to tell if it's more prop than your engine is happy turning.

Status: offline 		I don't know about the 4 star but I had a Cessna with a 91 that I also flew off floats and I ended up using a 12 x 6 3 bladed. At first I did it because I needed more clearance between the floats and from the water, it worked great. Then I started flying it off grass and it felt so good that I just kept the 12 x 6 on it. I used Graupner props.

One thing to keep in mind is that a certain prop may be good on one plane but not on another almost like it, you need to experment.

4. Converting from a 2-Blade to a 3-Blade Propeller

To convert form 2 blades to 3 blades you want to decrease the total blade area and
increase the angle of attack (or pitch) to overcome the increased drag of the third blade.
The general rule is to DECREASE propeller diameter by 1-2”, and INCREASE by 1-2”
the propeller pitch. It is all right to keep the same pitch when going from 2 blade to 3,
however you will not want to decrease pitch.

Status: offline 		I know this thread is a little old, but I have a 13x8 three blade with an OS 91FS on a Goldberg Ultimate right now. Before that, I had it on a 4*60, just because it looks cool. Performance suffered marginally, but still would do great knife edge and flat spins. Get a spinner from Dave Brown products--they will cut it for whatever prop you want for an extra 5 bucks.
