1. Hitec USA is open Monday - Friday, your question was asked on a Sautrday..
2. Not enough information - are you wanting equal travel on both sides of the servo operation or more travel on just one side? A mechanical set up depends upon what you are trying to achieve and also upon the angle of the actuating arm/horn of the throttle, aileron, elevator or rudder etc. Is it at right angle to the control surface or angled forwards or backwards for differential?
Why not simply plug the servo into your receiver and use a ruler, held along side, (or mark movements on a piece of card) to find best position for your required set up?
Further information is available under sub sections "Aircraft Design. Airfoils, Pull-Pull Systems, Flight Trim & Static Thrust Calculator" and "FAQ = Answers for Beginners and Advanced RC'ers" on my web page.

Hi Alan What would be ideal is to have 3/8 up and 1/4 down on the ailerons..I'm only using a single servo in the wing, so I'n not sure IF that set up is possible..

THanks Dan
PS It's now 5pm on the East coast..Hitec has been open for awhile..

Sorry, without knowing the length of the aileron horns and rake thereof, I could not even hazard a guess. Suggest you refer to Differential Aileron Throw by Clay Ramskill which has some good diagrams to answer your questions. The rest of Clay's technical articles and diagrams are also very well worth the time taken to read/view them.

Dan

I'm really not sure why you felt the need to make this comment!?!??! The Hitec forum in RCU is not the "official" customer service center and we cannot always put it at the top of our "to do" list; especially on Monday mornings when the phones are typically ringing off the hook. If you need an immediate reply to a question (Sorry, not on the weekends!) then I suggest you call us we're always happy to help. It's not like this was a specific Hitec question so you could have posted this same question in the radio forum where anyone could have helped you.

Alan is qualified to reply in this forum so I did we did not reply since he was already taking care of you.

For the most travel mount the linkage as far out as possible. This goes for Futaba servos as well if you choose to follow through on your threat!

Mike.

Hi Mike Thanks for the response..So then with the round servo arm, the hole farthest away will give me the MOST travel..

Thanks Dan

Correct. Note, it's the opposite for the horn on the control surface as the hole closest to the bottom will provide more travel. So if you can't get enough travel with the outer hole on the round horn, you could move the linkage on the control horn to get even more travel.

Neutrons were delayed until Jan '08

Mike.

Thanks Mike, however an exception in this instance as the HS-81 round servo horn does not have holes radiating out from the center, all are equidistant as answered cross Post 3
