APC 16-12, 16.5-12W, Maybe at the extreme a 17-12 but you better be running 30% heli fuel for the 17-12. Depending on the model 18-6W

The key to the YS engines is to run in the right RPM range. For the 140DZ you want to turn about 8200-8600rpm. This will make the best power.

The 140DZ is good on models up to about 11-11.5lbs for seqeunce flying performance. Models heavier than this will suffer a little. The heavier the model the less load you on the engine. So if its up around 11-11.5lbs go for the 16-12 and it will turn about 8600rpm. If the plane is light like 9-10lbs then you can load it up with the 17-12

On my old Sig Cap w/ 140dz my favorite prop for IMAC style flying was the APC18x6W. Stump pulling power but be careful on the downlines and level flight or you might over rev your DZ. With that prop on the ground at sea level at 58 degrees I got 9100rpm static. Too much in most people's opinions. The Apc 18x8W put me at +/- 8500 rpm static. An 18x8 wood prop is really sweet but delicate.

Good Luck,

Big Mike

On 20/20 I used an APC 18x8 standard.
On 30% heli I switched to a 18x8W. VERY good power but a very heavy prop. The spool up is still very good. I used a heavy spinner with weights inside the spinner with the heavy prop for balance on my tail heavy Cap. The whole propellor package weighted more than 14 onces. The crank eventually broke due to fatigue stresses. I never rebuilt the engine....
It was pulling my 12.5 lbs Cap very good up to Advanced IMAC. Power was not a problem, the plane was just too fast to keep up.

I read somewhere that the YS does not like to turn more than 8500.
