ths os is a great engine, fast and powerful, easy to tune and run too. you will love it. check for an air leak, has to be sucking in air somewhere, also check the fuel cap.

no, just loosen the nut , you will see it right below the carb and pull it off, clean it all up, did you take out the low needle too?

yes cleaned them the both.
so will the mutunt/tsunami handle the power of my new os 18?
and would it handle the power of a bigger motor like a .26?

the os yes, i dont think the .26, there is no slipper clutch and the spurs are plastic so you would probably rip them apart

its should be dry, there should be no oil or residue behind the pull start or on the backplate, that may be your problem

you take the backplate off, you should see a gasket there, either it was loose or you can put some gasket silicone on it and put it back together, dont put alot, just a little to make a good seal.

ok i see what you are talking about.thats the wrong spot.im talking about the shaft that goes though the center of the back plate and out to the recoil.it almost looks like there is a grove in the shaft for a o-ring or some type of seal. should there be any type of seal there on the shaft?

ok thanks.its really not that tight of a fit.cause the shaft just falls out.and i can wiggle it a little bit well its in it.and that grove really looks like its made for a o-ring.

yes it is, put a few drops of after run oil in it, leave the plug out and pull it for a minute or so, get it worked in a little. then try to start it. also make sure the engine in warm so keep it in the house before you go out and try to start it.

so i had a friend help0 with my truggy.my new os motor did the samething as the vertex.then we put some of his fuel in it and it got enough power that it took the teeth of the gears in my tranny.my whole problem was bad fuel. so is there anywhere to find metal gears?

nope, no stell spur gears, usually if the mesh is good and you have the steel clutch bell, the spurs last a long time. put a magnet on your clutch bell, if it sticks, its steel.
