I just got my Skylark from a guy in Hong Kong. It arrived just fine and I have no complaints about the seller but....

The manual is worthless. It has the correct pic of the Skylark on the cover but doesn't refer to anything else relative inside ! Seems more like the manufacturer is a little confused.

Could anyone who has bought one of these helis help me out with the initial setup? I basically set it up myself out of just pure logic and luck but could use a little help of any kind. Like...

1. The two pots on the gyro....which does what?

2. Which way should the blades of the center smaller rotor be facing?

I think I have everything somewhat under control. I was able to gun the throttle and get it up in the air momentarily but I'd like to start with a normal hover like normal pilots.

Greetings and salutations to all Skylark pilots out there !!

Dave,
You can go to this page and see the manual for the hummingbird which is basically the same heli. It doesn't have much info, but maybe more than the skylark manual.

Yours probably has the GWS PG-03 gyro, and you can go to this page to see the GWS manuals.

The following page has a lot of info about setting up the Ikarus Piccolo from which HB/Feda/Skylark were copied. It is where I got most of the info I used to set up my HB.

Good luck,

1 - One pot is the Gain the other is Neutral Position (on my SkyLark these two pots are behind a transparent plastic, I should have to cut this plastic in case I would like to mod them ! By Default they should be already almost OK.

2- The tail baldes can just be position in only one way, facing outside, these balde have to blow air against the rotation of the main blade.

Happy hovering.

P.S: I got my SkyLark with just 2 pages of instructions in chinese ... 100% useless !

The one on the right is the gain, if you reduce it (countr-clockwise) it will lower the speed of the tail rotor. [/QUOTE]

Well, I've never flown anything rc before. One thing is for sure, the Skylark does fly.

Here is a VERY short video. You might need windows to play it.

Don't laugh at my homemade training gear...

Hmph, that's got to be longer than any flights I've had with my Skylark! And I've been flying planes for ages too. Bah humbug and all that

Carl
