Sounds good. Let me go through and edit for size and contrast and il post them in a bit. I took about 50 pics. Youll see that his has been sitting a while. It has sink into the ground a bit. All th track is there. Aside from some road wear its in pretty restorable condition.

Which winch are you interested in? The main winch had a huge drum inside at the rear of the upper superstructure. It fed through the box at the front which has sets of pulley wheels at the sides. A smaller winch fed at the top front of the same structure On the B-1 and B2 models and M-32A1B3, the smaller winch was used to raise and lower the boom by using a bar that locked into where the mortar base was and had a pulley at ther top end. The cable fed through the pulley and back to the boom A frame and this eliminated the need for the bracket on the right side boom. The bracket had a lock bracket on the hull which held the boom in place when errected. A short cable was placed into one of the 3 points on the bracket and into a flange on the right sprocket. The driver would raise the boom by inchiong forward until the boom was straight up, then using the brakes, would ease forward until the bracket was locked into place. The boom had no additional movement possibilities. Removing engines or heavy items was done by the winch and A frame on the boom. The main cable was carried either backed up into the front box or let out a bit and locked into a front towing eye.
Pic of an M-32A1B3 showing the boom lifting mechanism. I have a pic of our M-32 in Korea but can't find it...will have to look. I ised to drive it for kicks and was able to leatrn a few things about it..

I couldn't locate my M-32 without re-shooting the photo itself, but here are some pics of the 1;35 scale models I did for our museum, which shows the lifting bracket, cables and gear and a couple more photos of the M-32A1B3 showing details and stowage, with boom raised. My museum displays are extremely accurate and although a 1;1 scale is better, these at least, show the gear as seen in the normal operating mode. These may be of help.

Forgot one very interesting thing on the M-32A1B3,,,,note the roller under the winch cable box on front. This was designed to string out the cable through the bottom escape hatch, over the roller and to whatever it was going to drag away. this provided a means for a crewman to actualy hug the ground and get the cable attached without exiting from top or standing to extract the cable. You learn some neat things researching for a museum.

NICE, both look great, the Sherman was a cool build, I think some of you guys should be extra nice to Santa (wife) and try a Sherman build. They do cost a bit more but are a nice and fun tank to build.
