I HAVE A 1980'S INTERNATIOPNAL HOBBIES BURGAS OUT BOARD HULL THAT I CONVERTED TO A STERN DRIVE,USING A AMPS DRIVE,AND ADDED A 3.2 OS ENGINE AND TUNED PIPE.IT'S NEVER SEEN THE WATER.JUST FIRED IT UP ONCE AND A WHILE TO SEE IF IT RAN.IT'S JUST BEEN SITTING AROUND.I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYBODY HAS ANY IDEA WHAT SOMETHING LIKE THAT WOULD BE WORTH.

Though Im sure there are a few here familiar with the maker an general look of the boat from something that old (did I just say old geez) a picture says way more than slightly vague description. Post some pics to include hull condition top/bottom an inside trying to zero in on motor an electrics an their condition also an idea of what specific equipment is included with the boat would net a few more posts with suggestions. with photos I would be interested...pm me.

It would be worth more with the orginal AMPS motor installed vs the stern drive.. RCollector would be most likely your best bet to suggest what it may be worth. As already mentioned, pics are worth a thousand words.

Then again, it's worth as much as someone is willing to pay.. I have a few AMPS boats / motors that will never be sold.. But then again, if someone came up with the right amount of $$, I might be interested..

Two that won't be sold:

AMPS tunnel (from when AMPS was still in England) with a Fox .60 powerhead..

AMPS T4 motor with a Fox .40 powerhead:

I have been told that the Fox .60 motor had less then 10 made by someone that worked with Mr. Agnew after he came to the states. Tony, the current owner of IH, along with the other gent have never heard or seen the Fox .40 motor.. This leads me to believe that both are very rare motors.

A little trick to getting the photos is to use the reply button up ------------------------------------------------------^ here
much easier than the fast reply form on the bottom of the forum also i found you may have to limit the amount you upload at once if the photos have a large file size two or three at a time should do it.

-Wayne

ps thanks go to ron olson for pointing out how to upload

Looks so much like the IH Velden 7.5 boat.. How long is the boat?

Due to the boat being changed as it is, you might get more from breaking it all apart.. Engine and outdrive sold seperatly might get you more than the way it is now.. Just my opinion....

I agree with everything OB nut said. Most of the value of what you have there is due to the fact that these things are becoming desirable as collectables. This being said, people don't like them modified. Your boat may run and handle great, but I would bet if you wanted to get the most $out of it you should break it down and sell the parts. I would guess your modified hull is worth around $100 give or take about $35. The outdrive, I would say $135- $200, although I have seen them sell for $350 on a good day on ebay. I don't really know about the value of the engine but this should give you an idea.

I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT,IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME.IT'S 35" LONG.THE DRIVE IS THE ONE THAT WAS USED ON THE BIG VEE HULLS.
