Ok guys I'm almost done.

Just want to fill some of the new body with some shoe goo in certain areas.
Install the body clip holder straps.
Check the Response for glue holding
Install tires
Charge things (I'm cycling the RX packs right now)

Only did 2 changes to last weeks set up being a new track. Thickened up the center diff some, prolly at 350K now. 300K was super steering but felt mushy on power before a jump. I also remove 1 of the P2 spacers as per the Traxxas Revo guys set up. This will lower the truck (I'll fix via pre-load) and remove some droop which I wanted to do on the last track for the whoops and the first double after the sweeper. Easily added back on if needed of course.

Oh and check out that avatar!

track is pretty nice and grooved up. dry, much looser than the first race out there. it reminds me of leisure's outdoor. pretty dusty. i was searchin for traction.

WOW, no race rerports yet? Man, i even sat down to some pizza, and got all cleaned up before going online. lol. Anyway, heres my take on the day, and my race. First off, hats of to Al Mathewson for the TQ, and win in MT today. Its an honest, and well deserved win. I know he feels were sandbaggin sometimes, but thats simply not the case. Congrats on the win! On to the race day. Practice was nuts. That new layout is very cool, and my god i love how windy that infield is. Something about all that steering thru those turns, was just fun. I loved it. I even loved DOING the double crossovers, though i hope i never see them in a track locally again. I dont know if its generally accepted at bigger events, but many people thought they could try for a triple or even a quad out of that section. I would think that would be frowned upon, because they have to drive thru oncoming traffic when they do the triple, but who knows. Maybe im wrong. I just didnt like it. So i practiced until i could string together some clean laps, then sat around til qualifying. I got blasted during practice atleast 5 times, and only had minimal damage. That i know of anyway. I had a decent first qualifier, and then a better 2nd qualifier. A plug change for the 3rd left me flamed out early. Rather than trying to get laps in, i decided to bench tune the truck, and get it to idle properly. Which worked. In the main i got a horrible start when someone OTHER than my pit guy gave me a super pitch down the straight, causing me to tangle up with well... Any, and all traffic coming thru turn one. So i drove real hard after that to catch up, and warned the guys to my left, and right on the stand. Not hacking, just told em, im coming thru hard and aggressive. Everyone was real good on the track though. The top 3 finished pretty close. I was seconds behind the bat. But those two were driving their butts off. I was real happy with 3rd today, and seeing the top 3 soo close. The day went great, even with some issues i had with my truck and motor. I liked the oil change in the shocks, and will be making a few more changes as well. So anyway, the day was good. I loved the new body on the track as well. Gonna tweak that a bit for next time too. Batman, pm me, we'll get you another body painted up.

Thanks for the report Matt. I was bummed I couldn't make it out there today. I should be able to race next Sunday though.
Congrats PW. So was the turn out pretty big? How was the traction out there?

Ya Brian, we missed ya today. The turnout was better than previous weeks, but still low. I thought the traction was good, but some others didnt think so. Though i have a tendancy to drive for what traction is there, and may not really notice a tire change was needed. Still i felt that track was hooked up. It seems to groove up really fast too.

matt what tires did you, and others find working out there?

i too really enjoyed that infield section, even while i was fighting for traction, when you can nail the turns perfectly it was a blast.

Al said at our drivers' meeting that the over unders wont be around for a while. he said he just needed to get it out of his system and always wanted a double one.

Rdub, it seems everyone has a different opinion on what they believe works, or shall i say, what works for them. Al Mathewson (won, and TQ'd) loves his holeshots. About everyone else i've talked to about those, hated em. I have some on my MMGT, and like them. But havent run anything else on the MMGT, to know the difference. Batman seems to prefer that indoor panther tire. I believe they are called switches. Jake loves his Response tires, and im still feeling comfortable with my GRP cubics. Now keep in mind im the only one not using traction compound. Though Al says he doesnt see a difference, Jake doesnt notice anything really, and Batman says it works... I havent used it. Now, i will tell ya i've driven all of their trucks. They all seemed to hook up great to me. Our setups vary from truck to truck as well.

Al H. also mentioned some were using the Werks Stubs on their truggies and hooking up well. It seems there are a lot of good choices for tires out now, some may be better than others for each persons driving style. As for the traction compound, is that the "buggy grip" stuff?

Ya Brian, i forgot about those tires. I believe it was Tony Tiger that mentioned those tires were amazing. We basically have alot of indoor tire options now. Buggy grip is the stuff those guys are using. Im sure i'll try some eventually.
