Matt, is the Muggy clutch bell a larger inside diameter like the LST clutch bell? If so, maybe try a different brand clutch bell with a more "standard" size inside diameter to see if you get better clutch life.

No Brian, the muggy uses a standard bell. I think its been somewhat of a mystery as to why the Muggy kills clutches. They had blamed it on many things. Too heavy, poor gearing, tires too big, weak clutch material, chassis flex, etc. I've heard alot of theories on it. The answer for the longest time was to drop to a 12t clutch bell, and run smaller truggy size tires. I've killed the stock shoes, the V6 clutch, and this Fioroni now. This time around i had the smaller tires too. My truck was pulling wheelies in areas of that track on Sunday. So i dont think its struggling to pull that gearing. lol. Just one of those things i guess. I currently have the 7075 M2C clutch shoes on it, with stock flywheel. I'll test it tomorrow like this. I also changed the setup, with some lighter diff fluids, that'll take some stress off the clutch as well. See if i can pick up some more steering, and more corner speed too.

Well despite all the problems I had with the TNX today, I had fun. I probably should've just put the TNX away after that 1st qualifier and tried my luck with the MGT. I can't wait to get back out there again. I'm gonna try to hit some practice on Friday.

Awesome race day guys! For those that werent there, i took the TQ by a hair over Al Matthewson. I mean a HAIR. Batman was sittin in 3rd position for qualifying. I knew the main was gonna be close, i just didnt know it would be that close. I was playing catch up most of the race, after my own driving errors. Al appeared to be on cruise control the whole race. The very last lap, i had the feeling that i was on the same lap as Al. I was right... lol. I dont know if we even crossed the line a full second apart. Al took 2nd, and i was right behind him in 3rd. I believe Jake took 4th, two laps down. Batman put an extra lap in, and took the win. Al and I looked at each other wondering "when did he get by us?". LOL. Well, Batman basically had a pit strategy, and it worked. Al and I appeared to be wrapped up in our own little battle, and somehow let the bat get away. I know if the Bats truck can get 10 minutes with a .21, then my .18 sure better get 10 minutes. I'll find out next time! Lets hope for another 20 minute main guys. We will do battle again!!!!!! Even if its a 15 minute main, im really looking forward to another close race.

Oh, and Brian, thanks for helping with pitting during that main, after your own breakage. It takes alot of class to know when your race is done, and go help the others. Just wanted to say thanks, and point that out!

Yup, sure is. We are fortunate to have indoor racing once again. Michigan winters can be VERY long, and depressing. Having a place to run indoors is just a dream. We'll have our race reports, and race contraversy here allllll winter long!

Oh, some other things to mention! Batman, sorry for hangin up with ya in the whoops. It seemed you were trying to let me go by, because i came up on ya real fast. While i was trying to let you go by, i knew you were out front. In the end, we slowed each other down. LOL. Great race though!

Eddie? Where are ya buddy?

You know it was a fun day overall. Truck was way better than my wind hair-brain set up. Still not getting all the steering I want but I'm close. Driving errors and slow marshalls got the best of me. Can't blame the marshalls, I should always know they will be slow so I should plan just to not crash as much

Al and Matt good race guys...all day it was fun running next to you guys. Matt = King and Al = Prince.

Batman put the darn LST in a shallow grave. You drive cleaner, faster, and more controlled using the Revo. Follow Matt and give up on that LST...Good win, I was talking about the 10 minute pit myself, just didn't want Infernal and his friend worried about problems with my truck.

Brian man that TNX gave you odd problems. I've never seen the TNX eat so many diffs, must be the high traction of FTR. Hope you get it solved, if not get that MGT out, I bet it'll do great too!

I'll be out Friday and Sunday this week. Al Horne mentioned he's running the LST this weekend, so we have even more competition, I love our class. It's a great group of guys...and we are all getting faster.

Al you have to join now, you beat me AND Matt this weekend! I'll have some drawings of the axles I want to make, got to tear down the Revo tonight and clean it tomorrow to get it all ready.

Oh the Respirator worked awesome guys. $19.99 at Harbor Freight, my lungs and throat feel very good compared to last week. Al I have yours Friday or Sunday whichever day you hit the track next.

Ya Jake, please get the axle fix you are workin on. I have alot of slop in my wheels, that i thought was from the pivot ball retainers backing out. So get r' done! You are right, our class is awesome. Great group of guys. I only had one problem during quals with lap traffic today. But honestly, our class is really good. Alot of respect among the group of MT racers. Infernal, thanks again for hangin out and helping with us. Hope you get to race with us soon. Its great, i havent been out of the FTR building for 24 hrs even, and im ready for another race. Time for new tires too. Batmans truck was hoooooked up!

Well it was just the 1 time problem with the rear diff in the 1st qualifier. I have to pull it apart to look at it yet, but I think it is just going to be that side shaft that pulled out of the side diff gear. Man is that a pain to change on that truck. It really bummed me out that I busted to get that truck ready for the next qualifier and then it wouldn't start due to the glow plug going bad. By then the battery in my drill had died. Grrrr. So I missed the 2nd qualifier. 3rd qualifier went smooth. In the main, I broke a front wheel axle at the u-joint shortly after the start of the race. I tried running with just rear wheel drive and spun out taking out a rear knuckle. I could've fixed it and got back on the track, but at that point, why bother. I figured the best thing I could do was go help with the pitting (and you're very welcome Matt). The problems during practice (front toe link end and front knuckle) were 100% my fault for trying to take that turn after the straight too fast and hitting the wall. I must say the tires did start hooking up better as the track dried out, but it was very slick during practice. I am glad that the TNX seems to have the power again that it used to have. I was about ready to ditch that engine, but I guess I'll keep it. Now I need to get some tires for this track and get that Aftershock well...de-aftershocked. I have a feeling that I'm going to have to back down the throttle for that track.

So what's the verdict on tires...cubics, holeshots, or switches?

Batman bringin the trash talk. Keep it up buddy.... Keeeeep it up.... lol

Brian, the verdict on tires, is that everyone likes something different. And yup, CF's always hook up better in the dry track. Anytime i ran em at DB's, i got faster as the track dried out. Noticed the same today on the Muggy. Loooose at the start of my run, but got better as the track dried. Back to the tire choice. My GRP Cubics hook nice. But when i really pushed it, i could get loose in a hurry. That could be the sway bar too though. Batman swears they are not as good as his Panther switches. He ran standard MT switches though. Not a low profile version. As for holeshots, 99% of the people at the track hated em. But Al Mathewson loves em. Honestly, they may be awesome on a revo. That other 99% that tried them, had em on seriously high powered truggies. I'll likely try em both. Brian, you may just want to get with Brian Simpson on some MGT setup. His looks pretty dialed out there. Atleast it did at the first race. If not, give it a couple months, i'll have an MGT 8.0 out there. LOL... That outta be a total fuel pig!!! But fun im sure. Lovin the MT class!

Nice stuff guys, sounds like you had fun.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhh I slept in...I had to work yesterday and I was tired. So I stayed home and played video games...went grocery shopping and that....

Matt mini MGT looks cool....I can't really tell from the pics, but it looks kinda cramped on the chassis.....how is it gonna be to work on?

Chris, it doesnt look too bad really. Easy access to the 2-speed setup, which may be a bad thing. Diffs? Hmm... Havent gotten into those yet. Will soon though. It does need a forward only conversion though. And i didnt see that on the list of FT parts for this thing. Might have to pull a servo, and just lock the truck in forward.
