Ya, I'll be doing some of that too for the LST and TNX. I got some extra idle screws, so I guess I could start break in on the Mach .26. I'll probably put that in the MGT for break in.

Well i havent been up to much here really. Occasionally running my XL, and my 8.0, but thats about it. Started to do more cleaning, and organizing of my RC room a bit last night, and not much else. Gonna do more test strips of the true fire soon, and hopefully get out to do some bashing. Assuming the rain lets up a bit. I've already finished MGS4, so i need a new PS3 game.... Or ten. lol. But ya, i just havent been doing much lately. Motivation is at an all time low, and racing is well... Anyway, thats what i've been up to.

Guys have a good read in the newest copy of Xtreme RC Magazine. The editors letter is dead right about racing dying.

Instead of club racing the large and more $ events are causing people to race less to afford the bigger races. Now with fuel rising (both gas and nitro) we need to reclaim our local club races. Not to mention the big races are 2-7 day events costing way too much.

Come on DB's get us a track to race at weekly...I think a weekly or even bi-monthly track would help the RC community gain racing again. Without Club Racing we won't have anymore racing...

Well Jake, i havent really posted my thoughts on it, just for the sake of people saying im stirring the pot. But to be truthful. Racing isnt as fun for me anymore. When i first started, i was just a guy that went to DB's to turn laps. Nothing more. I enjoyed setting up my savage, and MGT for the track, and seeing my improvements each week. Ed talked me into racing, and i got to really like it. I loved that place. I love FTR too, but the environment is not the same. Theres sooo much i could say on this topic, that im sure i'd offend atleast half the race crowd here in Michigan. Without going into detail, i'll say your post is dead on. Too many people think the BIG race is all that counts. I honestly have not been motivated to do, or spend anything in this hobby for some time now. I know im not going to spend a couple days at an FTMS race out of state, and im not going to waste that much gas money going to them either. For me, i need to start having more fun in the hobby, before i keep spending the way i usually do. Too many people have an opinion on what the "other" guy likes to drive at the track, and too many people take it waaay too serious. Im a monster trucker, and that wont change. I have this buggy, and honestly, i should have bought another LCD TV instead. Its just the way people are really. They cant think for themselves. They've gotta drive what "that" guy drives. Or drive how "that" guy drives. I had a guy a couple weeks back call me a redneck at DB's, when i mentioned i was mainly into monster trucks. This story will crack you up! Heres how it went.

the moron: So, what do you race?

the redneck: Mostly monster truck, but i have a buggy this year too.

the moron: Oh, so you must be one of those rednecks...

the redneck: Yup, guess so...

Obviously, i played the role of the redneck... It cracked me up, that some guy i have never seen, could form an opinion like that. Or even think we were "buddy" enough to do so. He then went on to tell me about a race he had at the King of Kings, where he beat 5 other people. Curiousity got the best of me, so i went and found those results. He did not win, and it was in the NOVICE class.

Smack talk from a guy that races the NOVICE class? Are you serious?

Anyway, my rant is over. Im gonna go buy the Grid for the PS3, and maybe something else too. If the weather ever gets nice, we'll have to schedule a bash sometime soon. My XL needs some more DIRT!!!!

Don't forget the person he finished behind was a girl! LOL

Yeah I guess it took that story for me to realize the things people have been saying for awhile. And having my new car and a motorcycle it leaves me wondering why I still race RC toys, but I do still like it. I just like the club level more I think. Maybe thats why I love indoor, weekly club races.

Hey redneck, you'll have to start painting shot guns in the back windows of your truck bodies LOL.
So how are you liking that XL? How's it for bashing compared to the 8.0 and old Xss? I'm up for a nice relaxing bashing day sometime.

Whats up Albert? Havent heard from you in a while.

Brian, that is funny man. Im gonna have to get Jake to make me a Redneck painter logo for the bodies i paint. I like the XL alot. It handles waaaaaaay better than a standard savage. Its sooo much wider, and longer, that it really has a better balance now. I still need to get some high end servos on it though. But i do really like it. As for bashing it, i'd say its probably the #1 basher in my book. Though i will tell ya, when i broke it in, i was thinking "mannnnn this motor is quick, maybe quicker than the 8.0". Then i ran the 8.0 MGT, and realized the 8.0 has alot more power. The older XSS though is still a blast, and nearly exhibits the same amount of torque. Its much shorter chassis, and sorta off balance nature, really allows the wheels to come up easy. Those 3 are the top bashers. Though i've gotta say i love the size of the new savage, and have always loved the MGT size. The XL also has a real nice feel to its suspension in stock form. Probably alot due to its GIANT bouncy redneck tires. Oh, i should also mention the top speed on that XL is really stupid. That 3rd gear really gets this thing screaming.
