I finally injured the Slash...lol and what a crash it was.

All I broke was a side body nerf bar thing. Glued that back up until I can get spares.

The biggest casualty seems to be in the trans or the motor mesh...it don't sound good...

Got to have a way to justify buying a Slayer right? Haha.

The Nerf is fixed, but the gear noise I don't care too look at right now. Going to wash and wash my WRX and Triumph...then drive one or the other for a bit.

Ok peoplez. I have brought some pics of the Dirt Burners stand.

It looks to be finished, or very close to it. But its still blocked off for now.

On top of loookin really good, its really looking massive now that its near complete.

And a couple distant shots, just to show size really.

While its still not ready for us to go play on, it is lookin very good, and keeping me positive about the hobby in general. Every time i've been there, including all the sound checks for the city, someone else was running an RC there. Im very pleased to see that. When this place is done, and word spreads, it'll be awesome. I know it seems late in the year already, but i still see the light at the end of the tunnel. If they get it done this month, they could still have races in August, and September. October too, if the Michigan weather cooperates. Remember when we were bashing at DB's on the day before Christmas, in beautiful weather! Anyway, worst case scenario, if it gets done too late this year, it'll be ready to race on come spring time next year. Time for more food! Enjoy the pics! Once those tubes get down, were planning a day at the DB track!!!!!!

Thanks for the pics. That's a good size stand. So what's left to do to it. I'm assuming it's not done yet since it's blocked off from being used.

Brian, im not really sure whats left to do. From what i can see... Nothing really. Though if you look closely, you can see posts extending upwards beyond the railing. Maybe they are putting a taller railing on that? Or adding some shade? I really dont know. I do know they are planning a pit row the last i heard, and waiting on water to be run there. I'll talk to Bill tomorrow, and see what info he has on it. Its looking really nice though.

Ok, after watching the video on the other thread of the spec slash racing.. we HAVE to do that. Heck, if we do that and a spec slayer racing, my pocket book could be in trouble.

Also, just a note.. while a lunchbox is NOT an approved fireworks mount, it is a neat way to set off those dinky fountain style fireworks from the grocery store.

Ya that does look like fun. Those trucks could bring a new freshness to RC racing, but only if they are raced in stock form.

Well guys, heres another update. I went to DB's today, and Ed told me there had been some work done at the track. Naturally, i needed pics. So check it out. The pit row is there!!! And its huge!

This pic is obviously for size reference. I nicely asked the GST owner to set that beast on the pit lane, and he did. Thanks again GST owner! As you can see, the pit row is wiiiiiiiide. Real wide! Judging from the pic, it can handle 2 GST's side by side. lol. Thats pretty wide.

And some general pics, once again showing the interest in this place.

So now the track needs to be prepped, watered, tubed and tamp'd. Im told that'll be done real soon! Good job Ed! This place is lookin really good man. Cant wait to get out there and race.

Man, that is a wide pit lane. Heck, you could still get to your pit guy even if someone didn't pick the RC up to fill the tank. Thanks for the pics. Judging from the amount of tire tracks in the dirt, the track is getting lots of use.

That was my Cen GST! Woo Hoo....well it wasnt all Woo Hoo since I really didnt have time to bash it and had to settle on bashing the Revo. I just replaced a cylinder head on it since I cracked a few of the cooling fins off. Oh well I look forward to bashing it this week after work. I have been lurking around the posts for quite some time since I moved back home to Michigan from that damn Buckeye state. And for some strange reason I thought that was you Thermal cause I remember reading in the posts that you were going to go down and take some pics. The kid that took my GST over when I was prepping my Revo was pretty excited to see some people down there and was asking me a ton of questions, I guess his uncle is giving him a rustler to get him started so naturally he had a million questions. But thats great I think we should always teach people that are new to the hobby so they learn and can pick up a lot from the rest of us. Thanks for posting the pic's, I met a couple other people that were bashing some buggies and a 2.5 Revo and were having some fun and even had a couple of electrics out there getting some good air. Does any one know once they get the track groomed and such if you still will be able to use the track when there is no racing? A couple of people asked me that question and I wasn't sure. I hope so! Well thats all for my rant hope to see you all soon!

Track is coming along...good work Ed and Bill.

It's odd they used plank lumber for the floor of the pit lane, but whatever works. We just need to get some racing in...
