Nice, thank you... please could you make a closer photo of the front? Do you have some picasa or flickr?
Is it a 3racing Steering Saver Mount?
What tires these are?

What are you looking for details on the front?

Those are Losi Street Meats for the Mini-T. They fit M18T rims.
That is the 3 racing aluminum bellcrank. Its the only real part I like from 3 racing for the M18T.

Do you have any solutions for bearing protection? The inside bearing in the rear of my truck locked up today after a short run in the dirt. It has happened once before too. I have found a sweet place to play in the dirt and would like to keep going there. Are there different bearings to get that wouldn't let dirt in? I suppose dirt caused it anyway, I don't know what else could have happened to it. It won't let the wheel rotate well, it will grind to a halt faster than the other 3 wheels.

High-Speed Ball-Bearing 6x10x3 Rubber Sealed (2) # 940610

Batteries are dead in camera. Will try to find some soon. Needless to say, it really is simply. Those thin party balloons if you cut them fit over the body of the shock. You can retain them by squishing them under the bottom cap retainer. The aren't perfect, and sometimes come loose, but it still helps, and easy to fix after a run.

instead of using string to keep your suspension arms on the pivot ball, try using an M3 washer. I have these on all mine, and never have any problems.

I would like to get some pointers on how to build shocks correctly. I was going through all of my M18MTs shocks (stock), taking each one apart, and topping off with shock oil as needed. With the springs removed (so shocks only), I noticed that, as I compress the pistons, some shocks have a much greater force to expand than others, especially towards the most compressed end. They all do damping, just some seem to "push back" much harder than others on compression. Am I doing something wrong? As far as I can tell, all parts are in good condition (I only ran the car a few times). Before I put the caps back on, the pistons move up and down in the fluid smoothly and with the same resistance. It's only after the caps are back on there's a difference.

You have to bleed the shocks. After refilling and letting the bubbles come out. Put the piston about half way up and put the cap and diaphram on and tighten just a tiny bit. Push the piston up and the bleed hole should leak some oil. Let the piston settle itself and tighten the cap more and repeat the process. Again, dont over tighten the cap as you will damage the diaphram seal. What you want is the shock not to have any air (or barely any) when you reach the upper portion of travel, at the same time it shouldnt be over pressurized, that its very difficult to do, or the piston pushes itself back almost to full travel.

The piston should kinda want to sit in the middle of its travel. If you pull it out, it should suck it back in slightly. If you push it in, it should pop out slightly. Again, without feeling a air gap or having too much pressure.

pete2222, does that bumper just screw on the bottom of the chassis or does it go in between the chassis and gearbox in the place of the normal "bumper"? Looks like it just goes on the bottom. I have been looking at those, I just don't know if I want the one for the m18t or the m18mt. It seems the one for the m18t is a bit smaller. Which one is that and do you like it?

T-bones I think have a lifetime replacement policy (don't quote me though). The race bumper is for the M18T as its closer to the tires, and would hit the m18mt tires. I use the race bumper as I didn't need one sticking out so far in front. The one in petes picture is the basher bumper (m18mt).

The bumber is essential as far as I'm concerned. I can usually hit a brick wall and get away fine. I imagine this would be unlikely to happen without it.

My 10 year old son managed to break it. He drives it like a maniac. He drove full speed into a sold steel wall in a skate park. They sent a free replacement no problem which was great. The first one was a bit thinner than the second one and rubbed on the MT wheels slightly.I'm not exactly sue which was which as i didn't realise there was a difference. It bolts on underneath the chassis, and the screws they supply don't fit - you needto find some of your own

have no bearing oil in hands, will wd40 or gt85 work?

Pete, nice washer trick.

I bought some t-bone bumpers for m18mt, will show it when i'll get those. They have not lifetime warranty, but 3 bumpers for one car. It bolts on underneath? i think i'll try to mount it between the plates.

Mini_Me, you said: The piston should kinda want to sit in the middle. Is it for race or general technique? Coz when it will be in the middle i'll have less shock travel length when car jumps. And when the car is in the air those springs will not push piston back, coz those have no power to do so. Or i missed something? In manual there is a pic and somekind of explanation to put the cap when the piston is all way down (full lenght).

I'm thinking about to buy mini-lst alu shocks.

And... as i mentioned earlier i ordered some parts from rcxray guys. So package arrived

Thanks for mentioning RC XRAY. Your M18MT looks good. Nice orange wheels. Any plans to paint a body with an orange to match?

Without a spring, they would want to sit slightly near the middle of their travel. To increase your ride height, put the spring spacers on the shocks to raise the static height the truck rides at. If the truck is in the air, the shocks will fall to their full travel from the weight of the wheels even if the springs were weak.

Question: I am about to pull the trigger on the M18MT RTR. I then saw the CR-01 by Tamiya. This is the RC I would like, but in a 1/18th model. I don't want specifically a crawler. I would actually prefer it not to be super fast. I would like to play around with it like the CR-01 does.

Can I slow down a M18MT to do this? Should I look for another mini? Other than that I am ready to go for the M18MT.

@brazosminirc

checkout the http://www.losi.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0222

The 18mt can be slower but I don“t think it would be a good crawler .
