Ahhhhh them chinese nock offs of Redcat ( Losi ) are terrible....................LOL.................There are more redcat dealers all the time and parts are fairly easy to get, just not as easy as whats at your LHS, Besides the Hurricane won't be breaking much

Parts are hard to come by for any vehicle, depending on what your LHS likes to carry. I have one shop that carries mostly traxxas. One that carries mostly mugen. I just happen to be lucky to have alot of hobby shops in my area. But for those who don't your going to have to order parts anyway. Over a period of time I try to buy one of almost everything so if something breaks you have the part and then your only ordering another spare. Hurricane was my first buggy. Was not a bad starter. If you get into racing you probably have to upgrade.

well the needles or whatever like the high speed and the low speed and the idle? and when i start it, its is loud and i turn it off like right away because i am scared i will break the engine? And the wheels are moving like really fast the only way to stop them is push like forward on the remote, idk its all screwed. I don't understand what i did wrong. i did exactly what it said.

sounds like your idle is too high, you need to adjust the radio or idle screw, possibly the high and low needles too, if you touched them.

ok, but how do i do that? arent you supose to do it when the car is on? well when the car is on it is loud like it is in full throttle or something and tries to run away. i would mess witht he screws while it is like that but i am scared i will tear up my engine or something. i screwd the hight speed needle all the way in and then back out 2 and a half full turns. then the low speed needle i screwed all the way in and then back out till it is even with the collar. the idle i just have been adjusting little by little. trying to keep the wheels from spinning. The trim on the remote are set to the middle too.

ok, you need to put the car and radio on, take the air filter off, look down the carb. now there should be a 1mm opening. if its bigger than that you need to make it smaller. now hit the brake, does it get smaller? if so you need to turn the trim down on the tranmitter. if it stays open, you need to lower the idle using the idle screw, its the one with the spring on it right below the carb opening. clockwise makes the opening bigger and counter clockwise makes the opening smaller.

ok i did what you first said. I took off the filter and all and there is just a little opening when i push the break which is same as reverse right? the whole totally closed. and when i push gas it is wide open. so what do i do now?

you need to keep the brake pressed and turn the throttle screw clockwise until it is open 1mm, then take you finger off the trigger and see what happens, if it opens more, you need to turn the th trim on the transmitter until it doesnt close anymore.

Yea I expected to have to order my parts anyways cause my LHS sucks from what I can tell...All his prices are sky high. The only thing I will buy there is fuel most likely. Then I will just show up for a few open races and devistate my class!! LOL I don't think anyone that races there has a redcat. I think the owner has pretty much convinced everyone to buy from his over-priced limited selection.

One of clermont hobbies customers raced the hurricane a couple of times at a local track and I think came 2nd or 3rd against all the other high dollar buggies, I was there watching and it ran awesome.

Hey fellas, Could someone reccomend a fuel for my new hurricane?? I'm not only looking for the best fuel, but the best value in nitro fuel also. I would also like to know what glow plugs would be best, and the difference between hot and cold plugs??

i would run byrons race proven or odonells, either one 20%. you have an internal one way and fuels with too much oil can make the pullstart slip. i would suggest an os #8, its a medium plug and good for the bigger engienes. Hot plugs like an os a3 are good for .18 and smaller engines, cooler or medium plugs are good for bigger engies, like a .21 and larger, something like a #8. i like to run os plugs weather in my cars, planes or boats, most good hobby shops carry them.

byrons or trinity is good. I use os8's or even os5's. Lately the 5's have been better down here.

I bought it from tricounty, they were offering the best deal and they shipped it free and pretty fast considering I'm half way accros the US and I ordered it the day before Thanksgiving. Anyways, now that I have this monster can you tell me the best break in procedure for my SH 28?? (keep in mind its cold here) Also I need some reccomendations on battery power, I see the transmitter has a charging plug built in it (its the fm model) what batteries and charger work best for it and the reciever both?? BTW I'm also planning on getting a failsafe, Venom ok??

Best instructions for an SH engine that you have is right HERE and if you want to set up your transmitter I think you can get some good Nicd batteries from Radio shack (I think it says you can use rechargable 1.2 volt in your instructions you need to confirm that)and these 3 items and your all set up one, two, three Good luck and have fun that buggy its a blast

Nice brother, good luck with the car. Didnt it come with break in instructions? venom is a good failsafe, just dont get the one with the temp gauge.
