Hello all,

Yesterday my son 5 and I were watching the repeat of the NHRA finals and my son said Dad lets build one of those. (I normally build RC Rock Crawlers) so I started this chassis last night and worked on it today....

My plans are to have it run dual 3.3 Jato engines, direct drive to REVO diffs (have the two diffs linked via dogbone... Now I am looking for some 40 series slick tires anyone know where I can finds some? I found tmaxx size...

I make carbon fiber body panels for my crawlers, so I am going to make carbon fiber body panels for it all.

Still have alot of work to do. What do you all think? I am NO EXPERT ON DRAG.

Well I just ordered everything I need to finish mocking it up. I have a few questions about placement of items...

Do you want most of the weight up front or in the rear. IE battery pack, Fuel tanks?..

I plan on modifiy Tmaxx CVD to link the two diffs together and to the tires. I plan on cutting them down to size and weld a metal rod over them to make them stronger...

my dad raced 1:1 scale cars o i sould think just enough to get it to hook up but if u put too much it might just wheele
so i would put most of the things near the middle or near were the driver would sit in a real top fuel

did you solder or weld the chassis? Are the tubes solid or hollow?

awsome chassis by the way. I am making one similar just a lot smaller. You dont mind if I copy your chassis design do ya?

I like everything except the Traxxas engine plans. I'd much rather go with an O.S. or equivalent engine.

Excellent Start

Instead of going with twin 3.3's,why not get like a CEN 7.7 or Associated MGT 8.0,it would be much easier. Also, thats a nice chassis, did you weld or solder it?When I tried welding my hand was to unsteady to freehand and Im so uncoordinated I couldn't set my hand down on piece.I can only solder sitting at table or countertop.

Great start. Peronally, I think the MAxx sized tires would look a bit better with all the sidewall. I don't remember anyone making 40 series though.

Hi, i'm building a dragster also, and was wondering who could make a body for it. It would need to be 3.5"x48". What would be best plastic or carbon fiber?
If anybody has any good ideas please let me know.
Thanks, Lucas
