Frisket is a low tac film that was used in photo retouch and other special applications. It works ok and doesn't pull the paint under it off. Sealing the edges with clear is good too.. I've done both.

What kind of paint are you using?

I've never used Frisket, but I've thought about it. Like Bob said you have to seal the edges. On my last model I used clear dope to seal all the tape edges. Some of the underlying color would be a better idea depending on what kind of paint your using.

Well for the emblems I am using Model Master Acryllic. I could not afford the good paint (ppg) for them. However, the final coat will be PPG clear which is an epoxy. I understand about sealing the ends. However, I am going to go with masking tape for the rest of the emblems. I think it will be easier.

I like Model Masters lots. I think you can paint an entire plane with it and then clear it and you'll have an outstanding finish. I've never used PPG but I understand that its an excellent paint. The good thing about MM Paints is that they are dead on in color.

Thanx for the input Bob. MM is ok with me. But If you can get it, try PPG. Its better than MM, Flows nice, fills in color quickly and hardly ever clogs the airbrush.

Painting of the Emblems continues. I've got 4 more crosses and 1 swastika to go.

You camouflage patterns look perfect. I do not see any overspray either. I am assuming you are doing it free hand. What spray gun are you using and what can of paint is it? Are you thinning it? Thanks for a great build thread. Dan.

Hi Dan - Yes It is free hand. There is some overspray but you can hardly tell. I am using a Paash double action air brush. The double action allows me to control the overspray. PPG Paint and yes I am thinning it about 1:1.5. Thanks for your input, Andrew

I've finished the touch-ups on the wing and it is ready for a clear coat. I've also painted the fuse. The fuse needs a few touch-ups, a number "1" stencil on both sides and I need to fix a class 2/10 Oops. Here are the pics.
