Andrew,

Did you make you gear doors such that the bottom portion slides over the top when the strut is compressed similar to the fullsize? If not , when the strut is compressed when landing the gear door will dig into the grass causing the plane to flip on what would appear to be a great landing.

NO -- but an excellent point. After I get the covers secured and fix the little mishap regarding the locking arm, I'll look into it. Do you have any suggestions on how to achieve what you suggest?

A picture is worth a thousand words. I hard mounted the lower portion of the gear doors to the movable part of the strut and had it over lap the fixed position (upper). The lower door was slotted to allow it to ride up over the upper when the strut was compressed. Seem to work well so far.

Excellent Pic Mungam:

I took your idea, but decided not to add the bolts with the slot for riding up and down. Instead, I'm going to leave that end free and give that a try. It took me awhile but I finally have one LG completed. I ran into one proble with the attachment on the upper end of the gear and had to do a little grinding on the inside of the LG housing and where the screw goes into the loop end around the LG. Here are the pics. One more to go.

I've now finished the other side. However, I did it a little differently. First, Instead of suing nitro fuel tubing as a spacer on the LG to cover attachements, I used brass tubing. It maded the fit look better as the brass doesnot bend whereas the fuel tubing does as the screw is tightened. Here are the pics.

The other change I made was to install an 1/2 Inch of "H" stick and cut a slot in the upper portion of the Cover. Glue the "H" to the lower cover and it can slide up and down the slot as the gear compresswes. I am no debating with myself which way is better -- leaving it free or using the "H" stick. II would have uploaded some pics here but the Cover is white and so is the "H" stick so the pics do not come out.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated???

It doesn't look like a neat cut, but I now have one aileron linkage working. The cut will be covered by a plastic scale blister so it should look fine when completed.

Started the fuse today and discovered another problem with the PCK kit. Former 1a calls for 1/4 inch ply but the kit came with 1/8 inch ply. So, I had to cut another Former 1a qith 1/8 inch ply and laminate. Anyway, its starting to look pretty good and here are the pics:
